Internet Radio Stations

I have listened to many different radio stations over the years, and I will admit that I often find that the best radio presenters tend to be upbeat, love music, have a lot of knowledge about music, and you can hear in their voice that they love their job. These are the kinds of radio presenters I think are great radio presenters.

What do you feel makes a great radio presenter? What stands out to you?

It actually depends on my mood. If I am listening to music alone, I feel better because I can sing off-key, skip songs that I don't like and enjoy the vibe without any body judging me. But if it's a talk show or football commentary, doing it in company is sweeter. We can argue, laugh, and share reactions.

I have listened to the radio for 8 hours during a road trip. The station was playing good music, giving traffic updates, and the DJ was very funny too. so I do not see any reason to change it. So, when a station is very consistent, you won't even notice that time has passed.

For me, I think the local radio station wins because they talk about things that concern us ranging from traffic to politics to community events. But when it comes to certain music genres like hip hop, international radio wins. What about you?

For me, it is one interview with Burna Boy on Cool FM. I really enjoyed the way he talked about music and his journey. He mentioned that music started from Africa( since every mankind started from Africa) it was very real and inspiring.

Yes, many times. There was a day I was stressed about rent and work, then one DJ played "African Queen" and he was talking about the challenges we face in life and I just feel better. The truth is that the radio has the power to heal us from whatever problems we are facing.

For now , if I have enough data, I tune to Spotify or YouTube. But when I don't have an active internet bundle and I still need some entertainment, then I switch to my small transistor radio. Radio is still relevant here because some people listen to them every morning for traffic and news.

I think it's easy access. I can listen to any station from anywhere in the world and that makes me discover music from countries that I have never visited. It's unlike the FM radio with limited frequency and locations. With the way things are now, internet radio is exposing us to global culture. What do you think?

Morning is the best time for news between 6am and 9am. I also listen to The breakfast shows on RayPower. They give news, traffic, and some comedy that can get you ready for the day's hustle. I also go for the evening’s Wine Down show on Fresh Fm hosted by Love Doctor. Who is tunning in and at what time?

I used my car more, especially when I am stuck in traffic. The radio usually keep me company. Sometimes, I listen to radio at home when i have nothing doing. Particularly I love to listen to DJ Xmas show. He’s got the best playlist. What about you

Too many ads, bad DJ, boring music, or signal issues are the things that make people switch to another station. But for me, I think it's too many ads. If the station is playing 10 minutes of adverts in-between every 2 songs, I will change stations very quickly. What about you?

The first radio that I listened to was Radio Nigeria. That station was part of my childhood. My dad listens to it 24/7, especially for news. I think your first radio station will shape your taste and your memory. What do you think?

They should include 3 things like sound quality, consistency, and interaction. Too many stations skip, or they could even go off air mid-show. That's becoming common,.so it needs to be improved upon. They should also reduce the ads. What do you think the internet radio should do better?
