Forum community managers are hard workers and they manage the forum everyday. Therefore, I think that forum managers should be paid well if they are doing a great job of managing the community. So, how much compensation do forum community managers deserve?
There are many forum admins who regularly hire forum moderators. These moderators could be useful when it comes to managing a forum and posting in the forum in a regular manner. Soz how many forum moderators you may need?
A lot of people whom I've seen start a forum usually get at least one or two other people to join them as staff members. It means they need hello from the beginning when it comes to running their community.
Maybe it's because of the size of project they are working or they simply want to have the staff structure in their forum.
Do you hire a staff immediately your forum is launched?
I started my own blog a long time ago. It was based on a free blog software. I really want to start a professional blog with great content and this is my future project. Regardless of that, I know that it is a really interesting thing to do so. So, any advice?
Starting a fresh online forum is one of the most painful things the webmasters face. Spending weeks setting up a forum and months after launching it, you are still having zero active members. Sometimes it's only you posting and commenting on your own post back and forth. If new visitors see an empty board with no discussions, they will never return. Do you secretly create multiple seed accounts to generate hot arguments yourself or you just hire writers to start fake threads?
I found out that it is not easy to manage volunteer moderators. I have given members mod privileges and within two weeks, half of them vanished into the thin air or they start abusing their power on regular users. Since you are not paying them, how do you keep unpaid mods motivated and loyal without the whole forum falling into total chaos?
Many people live the niche of paranormal and this is why they usually start a forum related to paranormal. Many people like this niche and they want to share their experienced related to paranormal activities. So, how do you start a forum related to paranormal niche?
I do not think that there is anything wrong with putting ads on your forum. In fact, putting ads on your forum could be an incredibly great way to generate advertisement revenue. So, what are your thoughts about this?
Forum management isn't an easy job as most people used to think. Starting a community might be very easy because of free tools to use but doing the actual management is a tough task that comes with so much stress.
How do you manage stress from running a forum?
Well, we've all been there: checking out a forum you're not a member of and after looking a bit, you decide to bail. The question is why and how can aspiring forum owners avoid such?
Personally:
It is dead. If there hasn't been at least a few posts in the last 24-hours, I'm figuring it is de facto dead. It is a harsh truth, but empty restaurant syndrome is a very real issue with forums.
It is overrun with spam. See the first point — likely a dead forum.
Something significant is broken. Sign up, a key feature, whatever, not working — forget it, no one is wasting their time.
Garbage board software. We all have our loved and loathed board software. There are a handful, however, are just so lacking, no thanks.
Obviously toxic. Overt hostility, endless arguments, racial slurs, crackpot conspiracies, political extremism, nasty visual content, et al., is another reason to avoid. (There are some folks into that kind of content. They're often called trolls.)
Information light content. This one is more personal, granted, but if most of the discourse is just fluff, there's no reason to stick around. (Though there are those into just chit-chat, so that can work for some.)
How about you?
I first became a webmaster back in 2001 and that was when I first started creating my own websites. I remember my very first website was built on Geocities, and it was a fan site for a band I was a huge fan of.
Since 2004, I have been creating forums, so I have now been a webmaster for around 22 years.
How long have you been a webmaster?

The title kind of says it. What is your favorite forum software? It can be as a writer, a forum admin, or both. There are a number out there now: XenForo, phpBB, vBulletin, Discourse, MyBB, Simple Machines Forum (SMF), Flarum, Vanilla Forums, Invision Community.
What say you; which do you love? Or loathe?
As most are aware, there are are now technologies that work with mainstream board software to, in effect, create "users" and response to posts. Examples include XTR AI Assistant and wpForo.
How do you feel about using such tools on a new board? Have you ever done so and, if so, what were the results? Do you consider it ethical?
Thanks for sharing.
If you were to build a website would you want to start from scratch or would you prefer to use Wordpress or a similar CMS software?
For me I have a couple of sites that I built using Wordpress. It's a lot easier this way because the mainframe is already set up and I can add plugins as I need to.
Selecting the right kind of theme for your forum is the key to attracting more and more people to your forum. Untidy theme may never attract a good amount of people and your website or forum may experience high bounce rate.
If you're on staff, do you sometimes hold back on posting what's exactly on your mind because you might not get a good reaction to your words?
I've held back for sure. There are times I want to let some people have it, but I don't. I just play nice.
Have you ever run a blog? Do you still run a blog? I run several small blogs as I use the Wordpress multisite feature so all upgrades and updates are handled in one space and all blogs get updated at once.
