Selecting the right kind of theme for your forum is the key to attracting more and more people to your forum. Untidy theme may never attract a good amount of people and your website or forum may experience high bounce rate.
If you were to build a website would you want to start from scratch or would you prefer to use Wordpress or a similar CMS software?
For me I have a couple of sites that I built using Wordpress. It's a lot easier this way because the mainframe is already set up and I can add plugins as I need to.
As most are aware, there are are now technologies that work with mainstream board software to, in effect, create "users" and response to posts. Examples include XTR AI Assistant and wpForo.
How do you feel about using such tools on a new board? Have you ever done so and, if so, what were the results? Do you consider it ethical?
Thanks for sharing.
The title kind of says it. What is your favorite forum software? It can be as a writer, a forum admin, or both. There are a number out there now: XenForo, phpBB, vBulletin, Discourse, MyBB, Simple Machines Forum (SMF), Flarum, Vanilla Forums, Invision Community.
What say you; which do you love? Or loathe?

I first became a webmaster back in 2001 and that was when I first started creating my own websites. I remember my very first website was built on Geocities, and it was a fan site for a band I was a huge fan of.
Since 2004, I have been creating forums, so I have now been a webmaster for around 22 years.
How long have you been a webmaster?
Well, we've all been there: checking out a forum you're not a member of and after looking a bit, you decide to bail. The question is why and how can aspiring forum owners avoid such?
Personally:
It is dead. If there hasn't been at least a few posts in the last 24-hours, I'm figuring it is de facto dead. It is a harsh truth, but empty restaurant syndrome is a very real issue with forums.
It is overrun with spam. See the first point — likely a dead forum.
Something significant is broken. Sign up, a key feature, whatever, not working — forget it, no one is wasting their time.
Garbage board software. We all have our loved and loathed board software. There are a handful, however, are just so lacking, no thanks.
Obviously toxic. Overt hostility, endless arguments, racial slurs, crackpot conspiracies, political extremism, nasty visual content, et al., is another reason to avoid. (There are some folks into that kind of content. They're often called trolls.)
Information light content. This one is more personal, granted, but if most of the discourse is just fluff, there's no reason to stick around. (Though there are those into just chit-chat, so that can work for some.)
How about you?
I do not think that there is anything wrong with putting ads on your forum. In fact, putting ads on your forum could be an incredibly great way to generate advertisement revenue. So, what are your thoughts about this?
Starting a fresh online forum is one of the most painful things the webmasters face. Spending weeks setting up a forum and months after launching it, you are still having zero active members. Sometimes it's only you posting and commenting on your own post back and forth. If new visitors see an empty board with no discussions, they will never return. Do you secretly create multiple seed accounts to generate hot arguments yourself or you just hire writers to start fake threads?
I started my own blog a long time ago. It was based on a free blog software. I really want to start a professional blog with great content and this is my future project. Regardless of that, I know that it is a really interesting thing to do so. So, any advice?
Artificial intelligence has helped many businesses in many different ways. When it comes to unning an eCommerce store, AI can help you personalize your website or store. This can even help your customers find the right kind of product at the right time. How can AI help with eCommerce store?
Many people may think that humans are quite smart and this is why they invented AI and AI is dependent on humans. However, it seems like now more and more people are actually dependent on AI. So, Has AI Made Us Smarter or Just More Dependent?
Human creativity is quite important in every context. Whether you are an artist, writer, or a businessman, you need to think out of the box in order to become successful. So, how is AI reshaping human creativity?
AI has certainly changed the way we tend to communicate with others. AI has the ability to translate languages and help humans communicate via texts and even in real life interactions between people belonging to different cuktures. What do you think?
I rarely use a few unpopular AI tools in order to cross check information. This includes built-in browser AI tools. Such kind of tools could offer great information as well. I use DuckDuckGo's AI tool as well. So what tech tools do you use every day that most people have never heard of?
I think that people should learn AI and they should also learn Blockchain development. These two skills are incredibly useful. Skills like graphic designing, coding, and software development are also very useful as well. So, what's a tech skill everyone should learn in 2026?
I do not think that I would ever ask AI to generate a name for my business or company. A person should be creative enough to decide the name of his own company. So, would you ever ask AI to generate a name fir your company?
I can't say that I am addicted to suing AI tools like ChatGPT or DeepSeek. However, I certainly depend a lot on these tools in my daily life. So, do you think that you are addicted to these tools? Many people are certainly addicted to these tools for sure.
I think that technology will change a lot during the course of 10 years. AI will develop a lot and robotics will emerge as one of the most interesting fields. What's the biggest tech prediction you have for the next 10 years? What are your predictions?
Our work i.e, creating, learning & communicating is changing with AI. AI being the biggest opportunity of our generation. As we become too reliant on it. Where do you think we will go next with AI? Solar Panels on Mars? Are you ready?
Trying to limit my paid subscriptions and find free alternatives that actually work well. What are your favorite free tools?
Mine is Canva - its free version covers like 90% of what I need honestly.
Feels like every week there's a new AI tool doing something that used to take actual human skills. What jobs do you think will become obsolete in the next 24 months?
Been thinking about this a lot lately since my phone storage is always full lol. There's always that ONE app though that no matter how much space you need to clear, it's never getting deleted. My answer: probably PayPal. What’s yours?
I just want people to voice this out, and many of us have already seen this coming, but the fact that these AI companies are actually willing to collect people's information without consent is truly alarming, and I ask whether there is any fix tothis
With the rapid rise of generative AI tools for images, video, and design assets has completely divided the creative community. While these tools can help make the creative process a lot easier and faster, none creatives also have access to them. With AI tools a person who has zero knowledge about graphic designing can actually design a flyer with the right prompts. Due to this creatives now see these tools as a threat to not just their source of income but also to the trade itself as they feel heavy reliance on automation strips away the raw intentional human touch and emotions. What's your take on this?
