I see that right now groups could be promoted based on post count, but I was thinking other parameters would be good to have too.

Promotions could also be triggered by:

• Thread Count

• Reputation

• Time Registered Overall

• Achievements Earned

• Certain Shop Items

Perhaps it could be a goal to get promoted to another group if you have to hit ALL of those or you could choose to have them disabled and only use one.

When creating a page, there's no easy way to 'view' or 'go to' the page to check your work outside of having it in the menu bar then removing it from the menu bar. a "View Page" option next to the manage settings for pages (Edit/Delete, etc) would be very helpful IMO.

In addition to that, having the ability to create directories & having index pages of those directories and the like.

Example:

forum.com/pages/streams/ - a directory but also a landing page.

forum.com/pages/streams/smokey/ - a page for my stream.

I know this was talked about previously but i figured i'd throw it back in at the end of this new suggestion. :)

Is there a way we can use a backup system, I literally erased my code in CSS for the FS Default. Is it possible to only retrieve for couple of minutes or go back to an exact time? 9:50pm May 9.

Where can i set the board's default/global timezone? I thought it'd be under the "Settings" area but it does not appear to be an option there?

For the memberlist, can we get the ability to search the memberlist via username? Also, can we sort the list by groups?

eg: If i wanted to see who were VIPs, i could use a dropdown list to view everyone within the "VIP" group?

this is a basic feature that's been available on software like IPB 1.3.1. as well as being able to type in a username to see if they're registered/on the memberlist.

Pretty basic, shouldn't be difficult to implement, but would love to see it done. :)

It could be confusing to some when viewing their user dropdown when they click their username in the upper right corner. "Profile" kinda indicates it'd bring you to your own profile and not your profile settings to edit your profile. Perhaps changing the text to something like "Edit Profile" or "User CP" might be a better idea? or even "User Options"?

Additionally, perhaps a "View Profile" link could be added so that users can go directly to their actual profile on the board?

Just a few ideas that might help with the UI/UIX.

On the board menu you should add an option to add Font Awesome Icon. I've been trying to add it via CSS, HTML, and Javascript and no luck.

In the process of building out profile fields and i'd really like to have the option to have a dropdown menu, like the one below, with preselected answers to some of the profile fields. I'd rather for certain fields, that people can ONLY select what I have written out.

Much like the "Forum marker" or "color" option for forums, can we get an option to use a different logo per forum if we wanted?

So example:

for a general chat forum with a gaming section, there could be a gaming themed logo

for a anime section perhaps an anime inspired logo, and of course the index/main logo would be unchanged but the logos would change if you click on a forum that has a custom logo to it?

Does that make sense? :)

I was talking with @Cedric earlier about allowing the sub-forums' parent forum to be hidden so that when you click on the parent forum in the directory, it shows the sub-forum listing without the box where threads would normally be.

When you try to remove the view permission settings or remove the ability for threads to be created currently, it still shows the parent forum.

I can provide screenshots if needed of what I mean.

Can we make unread threads/posts inside a forum bold so the unread ones stand out a bit more while previously read threads aren't?

This is a pretty basic feature and i thought it might help others when there's an unread thread or unread post within a thread?

I have seen a suggestion posted about a feature that does not appear to be implemented at the moment, which is the ability to view the last person who posted in a thread. Currently, it shows the author of the thread, but no update on who last replied.

Hi! I've been poking around at ForumSpark's features, and I've been really impressed so far. There are a few features that I haven't seen, though, that I think could help FS cater to the rpc and get more traffic from that direction.

One is enabling CSS and HTML in posts. The rpc is big on using in-thread templates for a lot of things. Making their posts look like phones when characters are texting each other, for example, or tabbed templates for threads where multiple characters are being listed as part of a group. These templates are freely available in roleplay hubs, but do require the on-site coding to work. Guests usually don't use templates, so restricting this feature to logged-in members would work.

Profile apps are also super popular. Basically, a character's information is put into custom profile fields that are then displayed on the main profile (and sometimes repeated on the miniprofile as well). They require multiparagraph input for things like a character's personality and history. Allowing long text boxes, and easy paragraph breaks, would be a huge boon. The main catch for this, I think, is that custom profile fields are currently set up to only display on the miniprofile instead of the main profile (if I understand the documentation correctly). Obviously, Jcink runs on different software, but they have a pretty straightforward way of doing it: a custom profile field can be displayed anywhere on the site where "<!-- |field_1| -->" is inserted, with the number 1 changing to match the field's sort order in the admin panel.

The last is webpage length. Currently it's capped at 60,000 characters. Which, to be fair, is a lot! However, that's too short for character rosters that involve multiple lines of information and HTML. I tested a code I'd like to use on my site, and it only fit 28 characters. A larger roleplay site could have two or three times as many. Some of these rosters are designed with Javascript filters or effects, so I think it might be easier to allow longer webpages, than allow JS in posts?

Even if these aren't things you want to add, ForumSpark has been a lot of fun to play with and I look forward to seeing where it goes!

The feeds currently are great, but as some forums get more popular, I've noticed that I'd love to remove certain forums from the feed at times or choose multiple forums to see their feeds all at once.

For example, I love Post Loop, but the feed is filled with the activity there. I do go there to post at times, but I'd love to be able to filter it out and get to the smaller forums to save some time and help them out too by posting. Doing it one by one is slow, so maybe in the future I can select from the drop down multiple forums?

Suggestion/request: could the character cap on Pages be removed?

I'm trying to make a guidebook (a tabbed table with lore), but I've hit the 60k character cap. If necessary, I can move the lore to an external site, or into threads. Pages is just preferred.

So basically, similar to Xenforo, let the "Home" tab have the option to direct back to a homepage or landing page of our choosing while the "Forums" tab have it directed to the board index.

In the case of ForumSpark here, the "Home" tab should direct back to forumspark.net while a "Forums" tab can direct back to the index of the support forums.

I would like to have a delete conversation button and start a new conversation.

RIght now the new topics widget could be a little confusing as it doesn't show which one is the last reply, see here:

It's the bottom one after the body of text for the 1st post of a topic. I think if you're going to show who replied last within this widget a "Last Reply:" indicator would make things a bit clearer & easier to understand.

As someone who knows HTML, CSS, and JavaScript I'm interested in developing some extensions for ForumSpark. The question is, what types of extensions would you like to see?

Howabout a BBcode to embed a twitch stream or even twitch VOD?

Or something that'll allow us to embed a twitch stream on a webpage along w/ the stream's chat window.

A way to pull in the stream when said streamer is live each time would also be helpful.....

that'd probably take a bit more work though but it would be neat to see.

Howabout letting us create folders/directories within the file manager so we can better organzie files we may upload there? Jcink has this ability and it works out well for things like theme graphics, etc.

Within the hub, when using daerkmode, when you check your notifications, it's very hard to read them until you 'mark as read'.

I implemented a theme I'm having work done on, and then disabled it, it's still set as my theme for my account, despite it not being the default theme, and unless i re-enable the theme and change it manually, I'm stuck using the theme.

There should be a setting to force all users to use the default theme or perhaps an admin setting within editing a member to manually choose which theme they use.

Allow us to edit the recent activity widget (as well as new topics widget) and allow for us to choose which forums it pulls from and leave out ones we don't want? & can we have more than 1 'recent activity' widget live but perhaps under a different widget title of our choosing, only pulling from specific forums?

Does that make sense? It's nearly 3am don't mind me if it sounds confusing :P

We can place something cool and nice to be more attractive with this widget
