Free vs Paid Forum Software

Do you prefer free or paid forum software and why?

At the moment, I would say that I prefer paid forum software, as I use XenForo for both my general chat forum, and also for the gaming forum that I co-own with my other half.

Prior to XenForo, vBulletin used to be my favourite in terms of paid software, but for free, MyBB was my favourite. It is a shame that MyBB just does not seem to be getting the updates it deserves.
