Do you take part in Halloween?

Gizmo · 2 weeks ago · 5 replies · 105

Halloween seems to be getting more popular every year, but I know not everyone celebrates it.

Do you usually do anything for Halloween, like dress up, decorate your house, go to a party, or hand out lollies? Or is it just another normal day for you?

Halloween is not popular here, but we have something similar. There are different cultural festivals where you can wear different and unique traditional costumes. I have attended many of them and yes, I wear costumes too. It's fun!

I like handing out candy to the neighborhood kids, even though we don’t have too many. It’s around 18 average each year, give or take. They like to come here early and then go to the neighborhoods where the houses are closer together so they can really get a full bag!

This year I decorated a bit more than in the past so I could enjoy it. Just a few things like a huge cauldron by the fireplace, light up pumpkins and other light up decorations and some things on the mantel. By the front door I have a standing little girl witch that I put there every year inside the house.

Halloween has always been something I have enjoyed getting involved in, but it has only been over the last 6 years or so that we have really gone all out and decorated for Halloween, pretty much when my kids stopped going trick-or-treating due to the pandemic, and then they just got too old to want to keep doing so.

We love to hand out candy for the trick-or-treaters too! Love to see them all in their Halloween costumes 🙂

Halloween isn't really a thing over here. It's not an official celebration, but there are a few people who actually host events on their own. These events are usually expensive, so I don't celebrate it, but I love watching horror movies during Halloween.

I used to partake in Halloween years ago, but these days, I don’t celebrate Halloween. I tend to stay at home and buy my own candy.
