What is the national sport of your country?

Each and every country may have a specific national sport. The national sport of my country is hockey. However, no one watches hockey and it is one of the most unpopular games in our country. A game being a national sport doesn't necessarily mean that it would be the most popular one as well. Regardless of that, what sport is the national game of your country?

I'm from Nigeria, so Nigeria’s national sport is football (soccer). It’s by far the country’s most popular sport, with a huge following at both local and international levels.

We all support football here. As a matter of fact, it unites us. We play football on the street from five-aside to the playing the proper formations in the stadiums. We play football literally everyday.

There is no doubt, football is the only sport that unites us. When the super eagles are playing AFCON or world cup qualifiers, nobody cares about tribe or politics…

We don’t have a definite national sport, we are a little bit good in a few. We are there in Table Tennis, they much I can remember. There was a time when we were a force to reckon with in football too, but not now anymore.

Volley ball is the national sport in our country, however, our country hasn’t been able to win a single international tournaments. Based on the popularity level, cricket and football are very popular in the country. Our boys are doing really good in cricket.

I won't call it the national sports of my country. I would just call it the most popular sports in my country. And it is surely football that is the most popular sports in my country. It is almost like part of our culture t play football and watch football.
