Why Do We Feel Guilty About Abandoning Books We Paid For?

E eLdavis · 2 weeks ago · 1 reply · 66

There's something strangely difficult about giving up on a book when you've already spent money on it. Even when the story isn't interesting or you're struggling to get through it. Have you ever forced yourself to finish a book simply because you paid for it, even though you weren't enjoying it?

When we buy books we buy because we want to read it. We believe reading is a good habit. However, when we abandon the book, we start feeling guilty. That happens because we have already spent money and we are not adopting a healthy habit (reading)
