Should a Character's Voice Match Their Physical Appearance?

E · 2 weeks ago · 2 replies · 66

When we first see a character, we naturally form an expectation of what they should sound like. A huge, intimidating character might seem like they should have a deep voice, while a small or youthful character might be expected to sound lighter. But does a character's voice really need to match their appearance?

Well you've got Danny DeVito in Hercules 😛

Most voice actors typically voice teenaged characters, not to mention there’s animal characters too that people voice. It’d be impossible for most voice actors to look like the character they’re voicing, but some do. Like Gizmo mentioned Danny Devito does look like the character he voices in Hercules. xD
