Can traditional forums ever make a comeback?

Traditional forums are something many of us miss. Compared to 10+ years ago, we now see them less and less, but there are still people out there creating traditional forums and trying to keep the forum world alive, and I love to see that!

What are your thoughts on traditional forums? Could we ever see them make a comeback as big as they were 10+ years ago, or will social media and places like Discord always be a problem?

Maybe initiatives like Foroverse will be a positive factor in helping forums survive. I also think forums that are (as far as possible) ai free will supply a much needed refuge from the slop,

I see it as very difficult; it’s a relic from the early days of the internet—a kind of magic belonging to that bygone era. Perhaps it could work if it were somehow modernized to fit the current landscape, but otherwise, it just keeps fading further into the past, overshadowed by social media.
