Can a terrible final season erase years of good storytelling?

A show can spend years building amazing characters, unforgettable moments, and a story that keeps fans invested, only to disappoint everyone with a terrible final season. Do you think a bad final season can ruin an otherwise excellent show for you, or can you still appreciate everything that came before it? Which series comes to mind when you think about this?

Unfortunately, yes; if the ending is really, really bad, it can ruin years of a good series.

Yes, a final season being terrible can erase years of good storytelling and building up characters, and I have seen this happen.

The Walking Dead is a good example, I felt the show was amazing, and then around Season 6 I think it was the story started getting stale, to the point where I lost interest and don’t even remember watching the finale.

The Walking Dead was also a classic case of it ran for too long, and they ran out of new ideas to keep the show entertaining
