Single-player story games or competitive multiplayer: Which gets more of your time?

I would go for the single-player story games any day. I am actually tired of the toxicity that is surrounding multiplayer. You could be playing to relax, then someone can just insult you. For me, I think the single-player would give you peace of mind for there is no one that will drag you.
