Why Do So Many Great TV Shows Fall Apart in Their Final Season?

E eLdavis · 2 weeks ago · 4 replies · 58

A great TV show can spend years building amazing characters, relationships, mysteries, and storylines, only to leave viewers disappointed when the final season arrives. Sometimes the ending feels rushed, characters suddenly behave differently, or major storylines are resolved too quickly. Let's take Stranger Things, for example: each season has been pretty good, but a lot of fans had nothing but complaints about the final season. What do you think is the problem?

I don’t think it is good to say many great TV shows fall apart in their final seasons, however, some shows actually fall apart. One reason is because do not actually get what the makers want to show, they simply want good wins and bad loses but in real world that rarely happens.

Lazy writers who know it's their last season and don't care.

I think the showrunners just get lazy or rush the endings because the contract is expiring. This happened in Game of Thrones and Stranger Things final season. That kind of thing should be addressed by movie directors.

To carve out the final season is hard because the expectations of viewers are very high and most of the writers rush it. I have watched series that started strong but ended weak.
