Are Music Collaborations Becoming Too Common?

E eLdavis · 2 weeks ago · 3 replies · 93

Music collaborations can be exciting when two artists with different styles come together and create something neither could have made alone. A great collaboration can introduce artists to new audiences and sometimes produce an unforgettable song. But when it becomes too much, the spark goes away. Do you think music collaborations are becoming too common, or do you enjoy seeing different artists come together?

Collabs is everywhere now. I have seen old artists featuring the young lads. That's how they still remain in the industry. For instance, “B4B4 by David featuring Mayorkun and Fola- that's a typical example.

Collaborations between artists are becoming so common now. It seems like there is a gradual fusion of genres such that artists singing different genres can easily work out a collaboration for a song. And technology has made it very possible for artists to feature on the same song remotely.

Yeah, and I think it’s great that things are this way—provided the collaboration is genuinely good and, ideally, authentic; meaning the artists actually get along. Because just making a song for the sake of fame is total bullshit; the whole point should be that they collaborate because they get along, and that the result is actually a good song.
