Ghost Forums

If you were asked to provide a posting service on a ghost forum would you take the job up or would you say no? A ghost forum is one with very little members and very little topics or even a dead forum.

I would take this job on, yes. I would imagine that the person hiring me would want more threads than posts, or even just threads, as that would make sense, but if they were to also hire for posts as well as threads, I would hope they have a plan in which more content was created by others for me to be able to complete my order in the time frame.

You never know if your post/topic will encourage lurkers to take the leap, sign up and start posting. I think that even ghost forums should have some activity, just so that people can see that the owner loves the place. If not even the owner is posting, then there is a problem.

Absolutely, but naturally, it depends. First, the gig would have to pay enough to bother. That should go without saying, but so often the expectations are really out of whack for today's marketplace. Secondly, there would have to be no ethical issues that would prevent engagement. And, finally, the technology would have to work.

So, in general, a big "yes", but I'd need to see the fine print. 😊

This sounds familiar I wrote countless posts for you with no interactions from anyone else in the forum

I did a few forum jobs not too long ago. No one is bothered about dead forums.

You run the risk of being taken as a spammer.

Membership defines the income generated, why hustle? If it ain't a hit- its to be shelved.

If they’re paying, I’d still do it. I’d only accept a thread job and at a higher price point, because it’s a lot more involved than a typical post job. There wouldn’t be enough activity to complete a typical post job anyway.
