What home remedies do you follow when you have a cold?

H Heatman · 6 months ago · 4 replies · 287

During winter season, everyone is always having to deal with cold and flu is dealing with so many people.

Personally, I come prepared whenever it's flu and cough season. I have my garlic fermented in honey jars which I take a teaspoon every morning and night. I don't have to worry about flu taking them.

Have you found a home remedy to battle flu during winter?

I had a severe cold a few years ago. I just couldn't stop coughing. At that time, I used to take hot drinks like coffee, even though I do not like coffee. I would prefer to drink soup or hot chocolate milk to control common cold.

When I have a cold, two of the home remedies that I use are Olbas Oil in boiling water, breathing it in with a towel over my head to try and clear any sinus blockage.

Another is honey in hot tea, which works well for a sore throat :)
