Do you play games with emulators?

These days technology has become so advanced that you can now play various console games even on your smartphone. Growing up, i really didn't have access to consoles or a gaming PC so after i got an android phone, i started using different emulators to play console games like PSP, PS2, PS1, and some Nintendo games. Have you ever used emulators to play games on your smartphone?

I don't on my phone but I do on all kinds of devices like my laptop and hacked PSTV.

I have used emulators in the past, but I lost interest in older games and mostly play online games now.

I sure do, albeit just from time to time. DOSBox is my go-to for older PC games. There is variant (DOSBox-X) that allows you to play ancient Windows (Win 3.1x, Win 9x/ME, et al.) games and applications too. MAME is the standard for playing old arcade games for a reason. I haven't used it in a while, but NESTicle was a decent emulated for old 8-bit NES games. Further afield, virtual machine tools like VirtualBox and Hyper-V can be used for various OSes and software packages.

Retro computing / gaming can be a lot of fun. But it does take some technical knowledge and patience. Here's to happy gaming and fond memories of yesteryear. 🍸️

I’m not a huge retro gamer, so I don’t really dive deep into emulation. I’ve tried a few Nintendo emulators here and there, but I usually lean toward newer games, and the performance isn’t always ideal depending on the title. So at the moment, I don’t really use emulators in any consistent way.

I guess the closest thing would be Google Play Games on PC; I do use that for some mobile titles. Technically it’s emulating the ones that aren’t natively compatible, but that feels like a bit of a stretch compared to traditional console emulation.

I'm mostly into newer games, and I have a console so I don't use emulators, but I have used a emulator before.
