Meet the Only Disney Film that Traumatized me as a kid

When we talk of Disney movies, we often think of musicals, princesses, magical places, etc. anything that could bring out the magic in our world. There are occasional traumas though, like Mufasa’s death, but I could bear with it. But one film certainly gave me nightmares back in my childhood. Even now as an adult, the scenes still scared me more than Friday 13 gore.

Watching Return to Oz sounds like a magical experience. But it was two hours of pure terror for me. I could bear with the Wheelers, having watched Batman before. But Princess Mombe and her detachable heads certainly count as serious nightmare fuel. The scenes still scared where poor Dorothy has to face her headless body and screaming heads made Jason Vorhees look comical.

But I have to admit that getting freaked out by that film is my guilty pleasure.
