Had to get a new phone recently and it made me realize how loyal people are to one side lol. So which is it for you?

This is always an interesting one, lots of die hard fans in both camps.
I’v been iPhone for a long time now. Prefer the security/locked down approach of it. Also works seamlessly with all the other Apple devices we have e.g phones we take of family trips appear on the kids iPads etc and they like that. Also like the parental controls, especially since iOS27 where this has improved greatly.
I’m firmly on team Android, mostly because of how much Samsung DeX has changed the way I work. My phone isn’t just a phone anymore; it’s my work laptop, my tablet, my ereader, and even a backup desktop at home. Being able to dock it into a lapdock or a monitor and instantly have a full desktop environment saves me from buying an actual laptop, which pretty much keeps me locked into Samsung’s ecosystem in a good way.
Google finally released Android Desktop as a competitor, and it’s promising, but it definitely needs more time to cook. Meanwhile, Apple still doesn’t have any real answer to this kind of workflow. I like a lot of Apple’s ecosystem, but this is a huge missing piece for me. If I switched, I’d need to buy an iPhone, an iPad, and a laptop just to replace what my single Android device already does.
At home, I keep a little 10" portable screen that I use as an e-reader with DeX, so my phone doubles as my tablet and reading device too. A folding phone could replace that screen entirely and give me the tablet experience built in, but at $2,000 compared to a $100 portable display… yeah, not quite worth it yet.
The new Apple Fold looks nice and definitely has some clever Apple touches, but even that wouldn’t solve the biggest gap for me; there’s still no way to use an iPhone as a laptop or desktop. For my workflow, that’s the dealbreaker.
