Are we in hurricane season through October? I think that’s what my sailing friend told me. I’m not too greatly affected by them except for the rains sometimes.
Technically, June 1 through November 30 is the hurricane season each year. Hopefully this one stays a tropical storm or less and blows itself out. The Gulf has been really hot this year so storms tend to be stronger when they do form.
I remember when The Weather Channel launched a discussion forum during Hurricane Katrina and Rita. People got on there, posting about looking for their missing family and friends.
It was crazy.
I live so far into the middle of the US that we just get the systems that come from Hurricanes and tropical storms, usually a lot of needed rain.
I’m on the Gulf in Mississippi but far enough north to avoid having to carry wind insurance.

Hard to say, insurance right now has been expensive period. My mortgage went up a lot because the insurance cost increased due to material and labor costs. But it was a separate insurance on top of your required for mortgage. I think it fluctuated too.
