What motivates you to keep running your forum?

Is it your community or something else?

Why do you keep logging onto your forum each day and maintaining it?

The fact that I recieve daily log-ins and average a new member per day is one of my motivational factors.

Not to mention, I admire the fact that I’m providing resources and services to fellow users of the software.

I’m getting that on my hiking forum.

Organically, too. Mainly from people finding it on Google.

Approving new members daily and a few posts a day. That keeps me going.

There is a forum that I run that I’ve almost given up on for reasons I’d rather not go into. But I keep hanging on because it’s over 11 years old now, we have members (a small number) who return at least weekly to post and because there is information on the site, I’d rather not be lost to oblivion.

It’s hard to let a forum go.

I had to make some decisions about that recently, but I had way too many of them, LOL. Now I’m making myself keep it to 5 or fewer forums, with emphasis on fewer than 5 lol

I became a forum addict right when I discovered them, but I suppose there are worse things to be addicted to LOL

I get search engine traffic weekly, it seems, but much of my recorded traffic comes from a larger forum where I posted an advertisement.
