Quitting Forums

What would make you want to quit forums altogether?

Have you ever taken a break from them?

I take a break at least once a year!! I think sometimes just getting too annoyed with people makes me want to go off and be by myself for a while. It helps.

I’ve taken extended breaks from forums when I wasn’t in the right mindset, which I know is a good thing because I’ve done some regrettable things on forums when I wasn’t.

I’m sure most people would agree that some things would make us feel like quitting forums altogether, including but not limited to:

  • Your board being hacked into and all your hard work going to waste.

  • You have a stalker or stalkers who follow you around on forums and treat you like trash.

  • You realize most communities you're a part of are toxic.

I’ve taken breaks from forums, many times. Hell, it was a break that caused me to lose the .com for Revillution, which I still regret to this day.

I was on the verge of quitting again just last week….however, my host came through for me and sorted the issue out along with what was broken on my forum form an add-on due to an XF update that changed some stuff.

Would I ever completely quit forums all together? Perhaps, but not right now.

Something else that can be disheartening is a lack of activity. Thats one of the most difficult things.
