What are the most forums you have ever ran at once?
Are there any forum owners out there that run multiple communities?
Or do you think that is asking for trouble?
I’ve only owned 2 forums, but I’ve been on staff on multiple forums…and at once! Being an owner is more responsibility and I think needs more commitment and dedication than being on staff. With that said, I try to be active on the forums where I’m on staff. It can be difficult to make the rounds most days though, but I try to at least check in once a day!
Seeing a lot of forums by the same owner, I’ve noticed that the same people tend to flock to them. And the topics aren’t much different unless it’s a very unique niche and even with unique niches you’ll have the same General discussion areas with the same threads/posts from the same people.

Pretty much what @Kathy said.
For me, just one at a time, is all i can run and thats where all my energy and focus is. Being staff or moderators are different and i have helped others out with their forums and was able to do that because it doesn’t require the same level of dedication and resposibility as being an owner does.
I think I may have tried to run a resource, a general discussion, and a Yu-Gi-Oh TCG board all at the same time, but maybe it was just the resource and general discussion board. I know I’ve ran at least 2 at the same time.
