Children Forum Staff

Shawn · 1 week ago · 4 replies · 164

Back in the old days of forums, when they were more popular among younger folks, I saw many forums with owners and staff members who were under the age of 18.

Some were even around 12 and 13 years old.

Do you think kids make good forum staff members or do you think it’s a bad idea?

Would you allow kids to be staff on your forum? Or even members at that?

I’d feel hesitant about having a kid be on staff personally. I’m not sure they’re emotionally equipped for the job. That age group can be quite hormonal.

I think I started my first forum when I was 15. Now that was a recipe for disaster. 😅

I think my first big forum that I was staff on was GraphicForce or Outline and at that time I was probably ~14 y/o?

I think nowadays forums aren’t really being used for kids/teens. You have so many different other outlets.

I wouldn’t allow child staff members nowadays.

In fact, you have to be 18 or older to be on any of my forums.

Too much liability.

But like many of you, I was a teenager (under 18) when I made my first forum.
