Alt Forums

This was suggested by @Alien Hominid since they had a few retro platforms they wanted to share with the community. Plus it'll be fun to talk about the old school chat clients we used to use back in the day even if they're defunct now. I hope you enjoy the new section! :)

Hey everyone I've added some new features to Alt Forums! First off I've added emoticons to the forum, if there's any more you feel like we need please let me know and I'll add them! They came from OpenMoji, if you're looking for a free opensource place to get emoticons or reaction images I highly recommend them! Here's the link to their website:

I've also added some reactions to the forum, the images also came from OpenMoji. Again if there's any reactions you want to see please let me know. Finally a new section has been added to the forum as well, a place to discuss alternative operating systems! This is for operating systems that are not Windows, Mac, iOS, or Android! Once I get paid I plan on getting a domain name for Alt Forums as well, so be on the lookout for that too. Thank you all for joining Alt Forums. :)

Now that we're officially ready to launch I went ahead and added the forums to the forum spark directory! I plan on promoting the forum on promotional forums as well as other platforms so I can help spread the word about us.

Here at Alt Forums we want to provide a welcoming community for everyone. Here are our set of golden rules that everyone must follow while engaging in our forum. Please keep this topic bookmarked and keep your eyes peeled on updates in the future!

1. Do not share download links to illegal material. This is not a piracy forum, it's a forum dedicated to discussing alternative platforms. Things such as Roms, warez, cracked software, etc. are permitted from being shared here. Additionally any community or platform shared here with this content will be removed from the site and the user sharing their shady communities will be banned.

2. Try to keep posts on topic. It's okay to go off topic a little bit, but since this is a community meant to share information things might get out of hand and go off on a completely different direction which may make it harder for new users to look for the information they need.

3. Please do not ask to be part of the staff here at Alt Forums. When we need staff, a new thread will be created and we will hire those who fit the job. Additionally please do not backseat moderate on the forums. Use the report button if you find something off topic or breaking our rules.

4. Please treat others the way you want to be treated. We all have different opinions, and yes there's many different linux distros but do not personally attack another person for picking one you don't like. No racism, transphobia, homophobia or discrimination against another user's religion or political views is tolerated on the forums period. Anyone breaking this rule will be banned, no exceptions.
