How long did it take to learn how to true a tire? I didn’t even know about such things until I bought my road bike!! I was afraid to do it at first, but the internet tips helped me out.
For those of you who wear spandex cycling apparel, when it comes to shorts, what style do you prefer?
Vote on the poll and feel free to reply an elaborate why you voted for what you voted for.
Where did you buy your road bike?
I actually bought mine from Bikes Direct online! I had a local shop assemble it and I rode it home (friend dropped me off). You get what you pay for, so it wasn’t a high end bike at all, but I could work on it a bit to help tune it up better and it lasted me for thousands of miles. I think I paid about $400 for mine.

Why do you like to go there?
What tools do you carry while riding your bike?

What sort of pedals do you use on your bike?
Do you do clipless at all?
One of the biggest reasons I bought a gravel bike was to start bikepacking with it.

Do you know how to fix a flat tire on your bike?

Do you think all cyclists should learn how to do this before riding?
We should all bring some kind of portable air solution with us when cycling in case we have to fix a flat.
But now there are so many options…
Electric air pump, CO2 air pump, and traditional mini-hand air pumps.
Which do you carry and love to use the most and why?

Carbon, aluminum, titanium, etc.
Does the frame material really matter to you at all?
How many bike wrecks have you been in?
Have any of them been really serious at all?
I’ve seen some cyclists laugh at people who ride cheap bikes.
They even say they’re not real cyclists.
I think that sort of attitude will alienate cycling.
How do you feel about it?
What first got you into cycling?
For me, it was health.
I was in my mid-20s and overweight, chain smoker, heavy drinker, bad eater, and always lonely and depressed.
I bought a bicycle for easy weekend riding and fell in love with it.
Biking made me healthier. It led me to hiking. It started my love for the outdoors.
Biking saved my life.
How about you all?
Hi, I’m Kat! I used to cycle once upon a time, but gave it up because the position hurt my back and my knees too much. So now I just hike.

Anyone here into trail running as well?
If so - shameless plug: https://www.trailrunningforum.com/ is my Trail Running Forum 🙂
I’ve been trail running for a few years now and I love it. I’ve already done a half marathon, full marathon, and 50K ultramarathon race. My ultimate goal is to do a 100-mile race on the trails.
