What actually made you stay with a radio station. Was it the jams, the DJ or probably the news? So for me, it's the DJ. If he plays music that is in tune with my mood, I will be locked in. Some people stay because of the news but I have a friend who has developed the habit of just listening to the radio because that was what he grew up with. So, for people to stay locked to a radio station, it needs to evolve by sticking to fresh content and good sound quality.
I am quite sure that DJs don't just play random songs. They read the room, they look at the time and they feel the energy before they play any song. If it's a morning drive, they will play upbeat but not too aggressive. In the afternoon, they will play something that will keep people going. The night is for slow jams. Do you know any DJ with nice selections?
There is one song from WizKid, the title is "Ojuelegba". That song has some kind of spirit that wakes me up. It makes me feel like everything will be alright even when my rent is due. ๐Songs like that as a way of connecting to our memory and emotion. Do you have a track that you don't ever skip?

I enjoy listening to political commentary on the radio, but I prefer music for everything else. Sometimes the presenters on my local breakfast shows can be a bit over the top!
Do you prefer music or talkback radio?
I prefer TV ads because I can see what's being advertised. Sometimes radio ads are just too loud, especially when I'm listening to music or a talk show. I also find it easier to tell if a product interests me when I can see it.
What about you? Do you notice radio ads more, or do TV ads catch your attention?
There are a couple of them but if I have to go with one, then it would be B4B4 by Davido featuring Mayorkun and Fola. I never get tired of that song and it's played everywhere you turn. It's even stuck in my mind already. Very hard to get rid of it. Even when radio stations overplay it, it still sounds unique. Congratulations to Davido on that song.
Lo-fi hip hop streams is my go-to. There are no lyrics that will distract you, just jamming to smooth beats that keeps me locked in. I have added Lilrawkers Radio to my list now. They have good music you can vibe to. It's free to join! There is classical music, white noise or natural sounds like rain and ocean, in fact there is music for different classes of people on Lilrawkers. Who has a focus stream that never disappoints?
For me, I am currently listening to Afrobeats playlist that I built personally. If you haven't jammed with Afrobeats, then you are missing. I have the likes of Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tems, and Asake on my playlist. Music is everything to me and I love the fact that it can change your mood at any time. So, if you are stressed about rent or prices of food rising, one good track can lift your mood. Who is streaming music right now? And what are you playing?
