The Community Interviews homepage has now been refreshed with a unique new design that gives it more of a forum topic feel rather than looking like a traditional blog or website homepage.

The idea is to make the homepage feel like you are opening an interesting community discussion, while still making it easy to discover the latest interviews.

What's new?

The refreshed homepage includes:

• Forum-style topic layout – The homepage is designed to resemble a forum topic, giving Community Interviews a more distinctive identity.

• Latest interviews – Five of the newest Community Interviews are displayed directly on the homepage.

• More Community Interviews – A section at the bottom provides an easy way to continue browsing and visit the full interviews page.

• Reply and Quote buttons – These help complete the forum-style appearance and make the interview posts feel more like an active discussion.

• Smiley icons – The posting area includes smileys to add to the forum-style experience.

• Follow and Bookmark buttons – Visitors can interact with these directly in their browser.

• Reactions – Posts can be reacted to using the available reaction options.

• Clean navigation – The homepage brings the featured interviews and links to more content together in one place.

A quick note about the interactive features

The Follow, Bookmark and Reaction features are browser-based. They aren't permanently stored on an account or database, so they won't carry over if browser data is cleared or you use another browser or device.

The Quote and Post Reply buttons are included for visual and interactive purposes only. They help create the forum-topic experience but don't actually submit a reply, quote anything, or make changes to the site.

The homepage is essentially designed to look and feel like a forum discussion while showcasing Community Interviews.

It's a different approach from a conventional homepage, and hopefully it makes browsing the latest interviews a little more interesting and interactive.

I have been creating forums since 2004. It was after I found a technology forum while I was looking for information on something, and after using the forum over quite a few months, I gained interest in wanting to run my own forum.

From 2004 to 2009, I started creating my own forums, going through trial and error, until I created the first Chat Addicts, which I owned from 2009 to 2017, until I had to make the tough decision to close it and move on to something new.

8 years was my longest-running forum so far.

I personally make physical card games, board games, as well as digital card games, video games, browser based games and more. I’ve been making them since about 2016 when I started working on my first card game in the army :) I also make animations and pixel art as well lol

I was curious, how many people here make things outside of making websites? I know it takes a lot of creativity to make a website so I’m quite interested in what others make If you do make something then showcase it here and if y’all want I can showcase some of my other stuff too (Just ask ❤️)

Everyone always talks about Winter or Summer, but the real question is actually Spring or Fall?

Personally, I’m a fall person. The ground is littered with leaves of various colors, Halloween is around the corner (We go all out for Halloween every year), and everything is starting to die out so allergies slowly go away, the weather is cooling off but it’s still a nice temperature, fires become the hang out spot. It’s just the perfect season for me

Shared hosting is good for beginners because it is cheap but when the traffic spike unexpectedly, the site will crash. This is when you need the VPS. It is more reliable in that regard. So, you have your own space, but you need some technical knowledge to manage it. And dedicated cloud servers is so powerful, it has more power than a VPS, but the cost is unbelievable.

It’s an excellent idea, but I don’t think it will come to pass. Well, these days it’s impossible to raise a family unless you’re working full time as a trucker or something.

I don't know man, it's a name.  If I'm being honest, Bleacher Report was my inspiration for that. I wanted a similar style name, but I had to make sure the .com was available. Sideline Coverage isn't just a blog. It isn't just a forum. It's a sports media network. WordPress, XenForo, you name it. The whole enchilada, thrown into one website. If you live and breathe sports like we do, this is the place for you.

So like, why would you join this?

Would it be extreme to say that this is my life's work? I've been making sports sites since before I could grow facial hair, so there's a little tidbit of information that you didn't really need to know. But seriously, we want this to be successful, and we hope that you see our craftmanship the second you load the site.

Maybe so. Cameron, stop talking to yourself. Here's what I can do. I'll give you a rundown of the bells and whistles that we've got within our community. XenForo is a fancy software, so we've got lots of things going on.

• Rep Your Teams

  • Oh, you registered? Go into your profile, select your eight favorite teams. We've got hundreds and hundreds of teams to choose from, including MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL, NCAA, MLS, and much more. If we're missing a team that you would look to see added, let us know. It's difficult to add every franchise known to mankind, but if it's what you want, we'll make it happen. Sport your team logos proudly!

• Scoreboard Watching

  • If you clicked the link, I'm sure you noticed our scoreboard at the top of the site. This scoreboard is customized depending on what page you are looking at, whether it's the homepage, or the forum. It even gets down to team specific. For example, if you look at the Los Angeles Dodgers forum, you'll see the Dodgers scores and upcoming schedule. You'll see that for all four major sports leagues.

• Curated Calendars

  • Who cares anything about a calendar? Well, this calendar is different. Once you register an account on the forum, you will be able to follow your favorite NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and NCAA teams. Once you have followed your teams, you'll now receive alerts about your teams' games. This includes an alert telling you that the game is about to start, and an alert telling you the final score. You'll also be able to view the calendar page and the upcoming games for all of your favorite teams together.

• Place Bets

  • Lots and lots of forums have a forum currency, and ours is called SC$ here. You can use your SC$ to bet on different sports happenings. It's certainly not the same thing as betting on FanDuel, but hey, you're not losing money either. It's all pretend money, so no need to sweat.

• Choose Picks

  • Pick'ems have always been a classic on forums I've been on, but it was always just a regular old thread back then. We've now got a built in pick'em system, and we're really excited about putting that to use, especially when it comes to the 2025 NFL regular season.

• Live Chat

  • Back in the day, we always put a free Chatango chat box on our forums, and that was awesome to have, especially when we were all watching the same event. Things have gotten more sophisticated, so we no longer need to rely on Chatango. Now we have our own live chat integration, so tune in to the chat when the big game comes on.

• Automated News

  • If you've given the forum a gander, you've probably noticed that we have a forum dedicated to all of the major American sports franchises. Well guess what, we've also got a Team Notes topic created in every one of these forums, and these topics are auto-filled with team news. We do our best to curate this content, so don't hesitate to watch these topics of your favorite team(s).

• Sideline+

  • Being a member of our community is 100% free, but we've also got a premium offering that is only $0.99 per month, or $9.99 per year. With this premium offering, you are guaranteed to always have an ad-free experience, and you have access to numerous perks around the forum. Are you sold yet?

Well, if it makes a difference to you, there's a lot of history to this place. The forum was originally founded under the name of Cmt Sports Forum back in July 2009. That was when we were a bunch of kids looking to leave the UpperDeckKids community because they would leave our posts in the moderation queue for many weeks at a time. We ran the forum on a free forum host for four years, and then moved to self hosting in 2013. And then eventually closed our doors in 2016, and that's when Cmt Sports Forum came to rest.

Yet, when COVID hit, I found myself connected with a new group of guys and gals, folks that I connected with on Facebook groups such as Ringer NFL, Overstated NBA, etc. Quite a few of us teamed up and launched the initial setup of SidelineCoverage.com. That was back in March 2020, so we were launching right in the middle of the Rudy Gobert fiasco. At that point, our goal was to just be a blog and a podcast network. It wasn't until now that we decided to swing for the fences and revitalize ourselves as the next great sports message board.

So there you have it, that's our story. This passion project is seventeen years in the making, so don't hesitate to join this tradition.
