It’s an excellent idea, but I don’t think it will come to pass. Well, these days it’s impossible to raise a family unless you’re working full time as a trucker or something.

For instance, I’m washing dishes now at a restaurant. It would take 1,500 USD to afford an apartment. I would make only 2000 a month if I worked 2 more days a week, and you can’t even pass a rental application without making 3 times the rent - and having good credit. 🤨

He is bribing people, he is offering money to people so that he can win mid term elections. I think this i morally wrong and politically corrupt. When you promise money for winning elections, that is corruption.

In America? maybe that will change lives, but in Nigeria, that kind money will change everything because it's significant here. But the government grants don't usually solve long-term problems.

It’s a good idea, in theory, but then that is also forcing people to get married who otherwise shouldn’t be married. I’ve been a stay-at-home parent since 2022/2023, mostly because I am very ill with a life altering heart condition. I take care of our daughter and my partner’s 15 year old daughter. I homeschool/hybrid online school both of them. It’s not easy. And, truthfully, I should be getting paid to do that. lol

That's a different thing and it technically isn't a bribe because he isn't offering it to just those who vote. Otherwise every politician who promises to lower taxes or improve some social program is also bribing which is everyone.

However, I think it's dumb, because we already can't pay our bills. As for this initiative, it's nice, but just causes more government dependence which is NOT a good thing. They should work on better things to allow people to be able to succeed on their own.

Two words:

They lie.

This is yet another deceptive attempt by the Republican Party to hoodwink voters into voting for them, so that they can remain in power.

❌ They claimed the DOGE “financial trimming” would yield checks to Americans. We haven’t seen that. It’s been over a year now. That money went into some offshore bank accounts, probably tied to various billionaires.

❌ They claimed that the Tariffs would result in a check, because Trump overstepped his authority, because he can’t seem to understand what the most simplest of words in the English language means. That word, being “no.”.

❌ Now, the Party is flat out bribing people to vote Republican— sounds just like the shenanigans that Musk tried in late 2024.

The fact is, none of this money is arriving in mailboxes or bank accounts. At this point, the Republican Party is a disgraceful bunch of criminals dressed up in fancy suits, and anybody that supports this group of people needs to seek mental health therapy— in my opinion. I’m not even going to get into all the various Court verdicts against our Commander and Chief.

Now, about these one time payments. … That’s not going to do much good against the Cost of LIving rising at least 20%, and in some cases as much as 52%. A one time payment is just a shiny trick. It’ll fizzle out and won’t end up doing much good in the long term. Because guess what? Prices will continue to rise, because “there’s more money in the Economy”, even if it is only temporary.

It surprises me that he would want to do something so left-wing, given that he is so right-wing; this is the kind of idea a leftist politician would come up with to win votes and support freeloaders. In fact, where would he get the money if he actually went through with it? Exactly—from the taxes paid by people who actually work. That would surely become the excuse to raise taxes. It is a very leftist idea—a shame it’s being used for such a bad purpose, because helping people who lack money or cannot work is always a good thing. But this is a terrible idea; I can guarantee it’s the sort of sinister scheme typical of leftist politicians looking to secure voters. So, having said that, I think it’s a horrible idea, and above all, it reflects very poorly on him.

Personally, I don't believe this until I see it being done. Government have a way of lying to the people or even if they do it, they will get the money back one way or another.

He's not really right wing, he's more akin to a 90s Democrat which is what he was most of his life. It's just they moved so far left that a normal Democrat looks right.

Right/left doesn't matter anyway, they are two wings on the same bird. It's why they call it a uniparty and neither party do what they say they will.

Poor American people can't afford kids. The best case scenario is they have good credit - and leverage banks to afford a family - of probably one, lucky if it would be two.
