It’s Pete

I just got to join this amazing forum. My name is Fidelia. A fashion designer by profession and a digital marketer. Feels good to be here and I hope to have fun as I have explore.
Hi everyone!
I'm a graphic designer and developer, and I've spent the last few months designing and building Public Voice, a new independent discussion platform.
I've always loved smaller online communities and traditional forums, and wanted to create something with that same spirit but a clean, modern interface.
One thing that makes Public Voice a little different is that it's completely custom-built. It's not running on XenForo, vBulletin, phpBB or any other existing forum software. I've designed and developed the platform itself, with particular attention to the UI/UX and how conversations work.
It's a general discussion space where anyone can start Threads, join conversations, share photographs, music, interesting websites, things they've made, or just waffle about whatever interests them.
There are no likes, karma points or follower counts. Just conversations, with useful features like contextual Notes, activity feeds, saved Threads and a customisable homepage.
What's next?
I'm planning to introduce Spaces, allowing people to create their own public or private Spaces, essentially giving them their own version of Public Voice to use however they wish and create their own community.
For now, though, it's one shared forum where everyone's welcome.
Come and join us!
It's live and fully functional, although the community is still very small. I'd love to welcome some new members, get a few more conversations going and hear what people think.
If you fancy signing up, sharing something you've made or starting a conversation, please do!
I'd particularly welcome feedback from other forum owners and enthusiasts on the design, features or anything you think could be added or improved.
Cheers,
Leon

I’m curious to hear from experienced webmasters: what’s the typical range of earnings you can get from ads and other revenue streams on your forum? Is it more like a few dollars, hundreds, or beyond? Also, what are some ways to boost your revenue?
Some people do it, but I don't. The only way I’ll take a nap is if I’m really exhausted—like after going out on the weekend and staying up for a day or two, or something like that. Otherwise, it’s impossible for me to nap. It’s not like I need to, though, so I don't. Do you take naps?
I'm curious to hear from anyone who has tried Ko-fi or a similar platform for supporting their website, forum, blog, or online community.
I've recently set up a Ko-fi page for Spark Promotion and would love to hear about other people's experiences.
A few questions to get the conversation started:
Have you ever used Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, Patreon, or a similar platform?
Did you find it worthwhile for your website or community?
Have you received many donations or supporters, or has it been a slow process?
Are there any alternatives you'd recommend?
Do you have any tips for encouraging people to support your projects?
Here's our page if you'd like to check it out: https://ko-fi.com/Q3O8273CM1
I'm interested in hearing both the successes and the not-so-successful experiences. Every platform has its pros and cons, so it'd be great to learn from people who've actually tried them!
Have you given any of these platforms a go? How did it work out for you?
The first three are legendary; they are always worth rewatching. If you haven't seen them, I highly recommend doing so—plus, they feature hilarious scenes that really capture the era and will make you laugh all over again, along with some truly awesome moments.
How do you feel the homage of any forum should be? Very simple, or going all out?
I think that the homepage design of a forum needs to be simple and not overwhelming. Too much put into it can turn people away who are looking for a good forum to join. There are forums that I've seen where the homepage has a lot of going on. It's a big turn off to many people, myself included. Any forum project that I was asked to be a part of as an Administrator, Moderator, or Package Team Member always had an easy to to use homepage. Everything else on those forums were simple an easy to navigate as well. All my forums, which were on free forum services like Forum Promotion once was, were very easy on the eyes and welcoming to all. If members had any feedback to give, it wasn't about changing that.
I get that you realize the moment you actually fall asleep, but before that—from the time you lie down until you drift off—you’re in some sort of position, right? My two most comfortable sleeping positions are on my side (either left or right) and lying on my back; I can fall asleep in any of them, but while I’m lying there trying to sleep, I keep shifting positions until I finally doze off. What about you?
It’s one of the worst movies in history—boring, with an absurd plot and some of the worst acting ever—yet over time it developed a cult following; you could practically say it became a success after years of failure. It’s crazy to think that a movie with everything going against it turned out to be so bad that it became a cult classic, right? Have you ever seen it? If you’re planning to watch it—even just to laugh at how terrible it is—consider yourself warned about the garbage you’re in for, lol.
Using website builders in order to create a website is one of the best things you could do. You could create and build your own website using a website builder. I am thinking about using NameCheap in the future. It has awesome features. It is very user-friendly and quite popular. So, what website builder have you ever used? Why do you like them?
I remember seeing really bad reviews for the 2022 Lightyear movie—which is exactly why I’m asking. I haven't seen it yet because all the negative stuff I read totally put me off. Plus, it isn't even based on the classic animated series Buzz Lightyear of Star Command; I would have loved a movie based on that, but clearly, they aren't going to do it. So, since I haven't watched it, I want to know your opinion if you have: is it actually a piece of crap, or are the critics just haters and the movie is actually good?
Many people never talk about unsuccessful forum biche. However, it is very important to highlight this topic so that we could avoid such topics or niches. I think that forums related to unpopular hobbies or outdated products are the kind of forum that may not survive the test of the time. A forum about an outdated product is also hard to tackle. What do you think?
Would you rather fly or become invisible? I think I’d be invisible. I'll just enjoy everything do things at my own time. That would be awesome. I’d live an honest life in its truest form. Maybe because I'm a Islander in the Pacific. But, I’m just curious. Which option would be popular?
Just to clarify, I’m talking about the 2005 version, since there are others from different years. I really liked it and it made me laugh a lot; honestly, every single episode is great—it’s really funny and entertaining to watch. Did you find it funny? Did you like it?
I’ve been thinking and wondering: how dependent are we actually on AI?
If AI companies went down for a week, what would change in your day-to-day life? What about your job? Will there be a big change in how you are handling tasks?
Maybe more casual AI users will have little to no impact in their life if AI just went down, but it’s interesting to hear your opinion.
⭐ Rating: 2/5
Toy Story 5 brings Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the gang back for another adventure, this time exploring the growing influence of technology on children and the challenges traditional toys face in a world increasingly dominated by screens and digital devices.
The film tackles some very relevant modern-day issues, including screen time, the impact of technology on childhood, and how bullying can take place through digital platforms. It's a message that will undoubtedly resonate with many parents and families.
I might be in the minority here, but I just didn't enjoy Toy Story 5 as much as I hoped I would.
I understand what Pixar was trying to achieve with this instalment. The themes surrounding technology, children's screen habits and online bullying are important, particularly in today's world. There is certainly a worthwhile message at the heart of the film, and I can appreciate the intention behind it.
Unfortunately, for me, the story itself just didn't really get going. It felt like a bit of a non-starter, lacking the spark and excitement that made the earlier films so memorable. While it wasn't outright bad, I found myself struggling to get invested in the overall adventure.
For a franchise with such a strong history of emotional storytelling, memorable characters and genuinely entertaining adventures, I expected something that would leave a bigger impression. Instead, this felt like a rather unnecessary addition to the series.
I can see why others might enjoy it, especially families who appreciate the film's underlying message, but having an important message doesn't automatically make for a great movie.
Toy Story 5 isn't a complete disaster, but it was a disappointment for me. The message is relevant, and I respect what Pixar was aiming for, but the story simply wasn't strong enough to make this another standout entry in the franchise.
Sometimes, it's okay to let a beloved series rest rather than keep adding new chapters.
⭐ My Rating: 2/5 – Not terrible, but not one I'd rush to watch again.
Do you like playing online or offline games on your console or PC? Personally, I prefer playing on my console more than PC and offline games are usually my favorite because I get to play at my own pace.
What's your favorite way to play?
If you had to choose just one, which would you pick? A motorcycle or a car? Personally, I’d choose the car; while a motorcycle might be more fun, cheaper, and so on, the risk is extremely high compared to a car. On a bike, you’re completely vulnerable to someone hitting you and sending you flying through the air—potentially killing you instantly—whereas if you get hit while driving a car, you’re likely to survive, provided it’s not a severe crash. Plus, on rainy days, a car protects you from the rain, the cold, and direct heat—elements you’re fully exposed to on a motorcycle. But I don’t know—what do you guys prefer? Motorcycle or car? And why? I’d own a motorcycle as a secondary vehicle for fun rides or quick trips to nearby places, but not as my primary mode of transport.

Hi everyone,
We're Cedric and Matt C., the developers behind Foroverse. We've always had a huge affinity for online communities, and for months we've been building a platform to help people find independent communities again.
Forums have been a huge part of the internet for decades, and great ones are still out there. Finding them has become the hard part. Foroverse brings the public discussions of independent forums together in one place, so people can discover them, follow the ones they care about and jump into a thread that catches their interest.
Foroverse is not here to replace your forum. Your community keeps its members, identity, rules and content. Every click on a thread lands on your forum. Foroverse is simply another way for people to find you.
Foroverse for XenForo
For XenForo we've built a free add-on that connects your forum in a few clicks.
You choose which sections to share. New threads, edits and deletions reach Foroverse within a minute.
Only what guests can read is ever sent. Private sections and member lists never leave your forum.
You decide what shows: thumbnails, author names, excerpts (250 to 500 words), the full first post, a listing in the Foroverse directory. Every one is a switch, and switching one off removes it from Foroverse at once.
You can pause sharing or disconnect at any time.
Connected forums get the Verified badge.
If Cloudflare or your host blocks incoming calls, the add-on switches to firewall mode by itself, so you have nothing to set up.
For your members
Account linking: members link their forum account to Foroverse, follow your community there and see which threads have new replies.
Sign in with Foroverse: an optional login button for your board.
Posting from Foroverse: if you switch it on, members can reply, start threads and like posts from Foroverse. Everything is posted under their own account on your forum, through your permissions, flood limits, approval queue and spam checks.
Most helpful chart: an opt-in monthly chart of your most helpful members. Both you and the member have to switch it on.
Every one of these is off or on at your choice, and you can change it in your admin panel or on Foroverse. The two stay in step.
Getting started
Download the add-on from foroverse.com/for-forums/xenforo. It needs XenForo 2.2.0 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer.
Install it from Add-ons > Install/upgrade from archive.
Open Setup > Foroverse, click Connect to Foroverse and confirm.
Choose the sections to share.
The add-on is free, and its code is visible, so you can check exactly what it does.
Not ready for an add-on? You can add any forum by its RSS feeds at foroverse.com/for-forums.
We're only getting started
Some parts of Foroverse will change. Some ideas will work better than we expected, and others will need rethinking. We want the people who run communities to have a real say in where it goes.
So have a look, connect a forum if it suits you, and tell us what you think, here or on our community. If something is confusing, missing or just wrong, we want to hear it.
Thanks for reading!

You Use Money Every Day. But Do You Know How It Actually Works?
You earn it. Save it. Borrow it. Spend it.
It determines what you can afford, what your savings will buy, how much your home costs, and how far your paycheck goes.
Yet most of us were never taught one of the most important subjects of all:
Where does money come from?
Who creates it?
Why does its purchasing power change?
What happens when banks make loans?
Why do interest rates affect nearly everything?
And how does monetary policy quietly shape your financial life?
The Monetary Literacy & Mastery Foundation exists to help answer those questions.
We provide educational resources for people who want to look beneath the surface of the financial system and understand the monetary mechanics behind everyday economic life.
Explore topics including:
• How money and currency actually work
• How commercial banks create deposits through lending
• Inflation and the loss of purchasing power
• Central banking and monetary policy
• Sound money principles
• Debt, credit, interest rates, and financial markets
• The relationship between money, savings, prosperity, and economic freedom
Our purpose is not partisan advocacy.
It is monetary education, independent inquiry, and informed discussion.
Because financial literacy can teach you how to manage your money.
Monetary literacy teaches you what the money itself is—and what is happening to it.
Put your knowledge to the test with our Monetary Literacy Assessment:
Then explore the lessons, research, tools, simulators, and educational resources available through the Foundation.
Money affects nearly every part of your life. Understanding it shouldn't be optional.
