Debit or credit card?

Heatman · 6 months ago · 14 replies · 404

Do you have debit or credit card for your banking transaction? Personally, I don't have any business with using credit card because it's definitely going to put me in financial problems. It's why I'm very comfortable using only debit card.

Do you make use of debit or credit card?

Debit card for me.

As much as I would like to have a credit card to be able to build my credit score up, due to being in a mentally abusive relationship for as long as I was, and the amount of money he spent and borrowed in my name without my knowledge, which he did not pay back, I now struggle to get a credit card.

I now only use a debit card, which I don't mind as it means I can only spend the money I have available, whilst I do what I can to build up my credit score in other ways.

I currently have a debit card. I've thought about getting a credit card, just to pay for groceries and gas but I never bothered signing up for one.

Debit. Don't like credit cards.

I refuse to use a debit card because it's too easy for people to steal from you! My cousin has had it done and it's frightening.

I use a credit card, but I'm not a huge shopper and am really frugal. Most of my credit card usage is for groceries, WalMart (it's the closest store), and maintenance work on the house.

I have a debit card and not in favour of owning a credit card. A credit card tempts one to spend more than one has and then scratch one’s head how to pay back.

I have both. Debit for everyday and IDEALLY credit card should be for big purchases to give me extra protection for my money back should I need it.

That’s the mindset I have as well. I use a debit card for basically everything daily. If I need something that’s more expensive, I would use a credit card to build my credit score. But I don’t do that often, things can get pretty expensive with interest. Things vary from country to country, which is why I don’t understand why a lot of people in the USA, for example, use credit cards for pretty much everything.

I prefer debit card because it's so simple. You spend only what you get. Credit card can lead to debt if you didn't manage it well. The thing is, you need to be careful with credit cards.

I have both. I use credit more than anything and end up paying a fee.

I never carry cash, but I should start doing it because stuff is usually cheaper.

I don’t even know the difference! I got a bank card. Machines ask me if I can pay by debit or credit.

I have both debit card and credit card, however, I like to use credit card for payments. That’s because I will get 45 days window for payment and I can use bank’s money for free for 45 day.

I have a debit card, over here they rarely give our credit card, it's so rare that most people don't even know what credit cards is, and i haven't even seen one in real life here.
