If you employed any staff in helping to run and manage your community, how do you pay them?
Do you pay them weekly or monthly or yearly or you doing pay them at all because you only hire free volunteers?
At the moment, I am only hiring one person to post on one forum that I co-own and have been hiring them for a few months now. Currently, I pay them $30 per month, and that is affordable for me, and it has helped the forum a lot over the past few months.
I tend to have a budget when it comes to hiring people to post on forums, and hopefully, as that budget increases, I may be able to hire more.
Currently I do not have any paid staff but when I hire, I usually pay between $10 and $20 per month.
I don't have any paid staff or paid postings. If I ever win the lottery, that will surely change :D
Most forums is like a passion project. But sometimes you have to pay the moderator to get the best out of them. Also, if the person does not have a genuine interest, money can't even motivate them long term.
Volunteer.
I don’t pay forum staff members. If they expect that, they'd need to do way more than what I see people doing as moderators.
