I’m currently using Xenforo and it’s a powerful bit of kit but I’ve seen some boards on Forum Spark and tried a little demo myself. I thoroughly enjoyed it but I wonder as an active community, just how good is this piece of kit? I’m looking for first hand opinions as may switch when my Xenforo licence is up.
I necessarily wouldn't compare it to something massive like Xenforo. It really reminds me a lot of the old Zetaboards. Its nice and sleek and has a lot of very cool features.

I agree with this. XenForo has a lot more to offer, and even though ForumSpark has a lot to offer even under the free option, XenForo still leads the way in that.
I too would compare ForumSpark more to Zetaboards, as that was back in the day. Very much a breath of fresh air seeing ForumSpark and all that is available with it.
Compare what the offerings are of both…do you need all the things you have on Xenforo to make your forum work? Or was it just a want instead of a need? Will your members appreciate what ForumSpark has?

Some of the add-ons I have noticed can be quite hefty for sure. I noticed that some people were creating add-ons for XenForo, and some really good ones too, but as soon as they started becoming popular in terms of downloads, they introduced a fee, meaning that even if I have the add-on now, I would have to pay for it now to receive any updates, and sometimes the price tag is quite high.
