How often do you communicate with your coworkers?

Are you the type that finds relating with your colleagues at work as the best approach? I’ve been in settings where companies encouraged colleagues to relate better because we don't know where we are going to see one another one day. Do you take that as a good approach to living life in the workplace?

I work alone at the moment so I don't have a coworker to communicate with, but then again i believe communication with coworkers should be something that is constant or consistent. Communication is needed to ensure proper work flow.

Not that often… mostly when I need to communicate about work (which, since I’m a software developer, does happen pretty much every working day, but it’s not a massive part of my work!)

My job requires communication with my coworkers on a daily basis. It's not a bad thing, I like my coworkers, and it makes work easier for all of us. Maybe I just got lucky, I know a lot of people who prefer not to have relations with others on their job.

If there exist a culture of unity at your workplace, it can make relating with your colleagues much easier. Not everyone enjoys that type of unity at their workplace though.

I definitely agree. But it's also worth mentioning that not everyone at work who you call “friend” is a friend. But I think it's easy to spot people like that.

Communicating with coworkers is very important for teamwork. You need to build relationships because you never know when you would need help. But you also need boundaries as well. Don't lose guard.
