Welcome to GamingDNA 2.0 🎮

GamingDNA 2.0 is here.

After months of development, testing, rebuilding and plenty of late nights, GamingDNA has entered its next chapter. This isn't simply a new version number. GamingDNA 2.0 is about building a better home for gamers. We've been working behind the scenes to bring together the things that make gaming more than just playing a game — your gaming history, achievements, games, community activity, challenges and the stories that surround the games we love.

🎮 Your Gaming History

GamingDNA is built around your personal gaming journey. Your games, achievements and gaming activity help build your GamingDNA — giving you a place to see and celebrate the history you've created across your gaming life.

🎯 Challenges

GamingDNA 2.0 introduces a bigger focus on challenges. Take on gaming challenges, get involved with community challenges and see how you're progressing alongside other members. Some challenges are about what you achieve in games. Others are about what you contribute to the community.

📰 GamingDNA Articles

GamingDNA isn't just about statistics. Our Articles section brings together site news, feature releases, community spotlights, gaming features and more. It's where we can talk about what's happening across GamingDNA — and what's happening in the wider gaming world.

👥 The Community

At the centre of everything is the GamingDNA community. Gaming is better when we have people to talk to. Whether you're discussing the latest release, remembering an old favourite, sharing an achievement or simply joining in with the conversation, GamingDNA is built for gamers to connect.

This is GamingDNA 2.0

There is still plenty more to come.

GamingDNA 2.0 is the foundation for what we're building next, and we'll continue adding features, improving existing systems and finding new ways to make your gaming history part of something bigger.

The Community Address - 1st October 2026

Welcome to The Community Address — a new weekly feature from GamingDNA where we open the doors and give you a look at what's happening behind the scenes.

GamingDNA is constantly evolving, and there's always something being worked on. Sometimes it's a brand-new feature, sometimes it's an improvement to something that already exists, and sometimes it's an idea we're experimenting with that could become part of the site in the future.

The Community Address is where we'll talk about all of it.

Welcome to October

So here we are — kicking off October and just 31 days away from Halloween!

Speaking of Halloween, as long as all the coding goes exactly to plan, there's something special waiting for you.

If you visit the My Badges page on 31st October, you'll unlock an exclusive Halloween badge.

And don't worry about forgetting. We'll be talking about the Halloween challenge throughout October and counting you down towards the big day.

A Shoutout to Our Badge Earners

Before we get into everything new this week, let's kick things off with a shoutout to the members who earned last month's 50+ Posts Community Challenge badge.

Congratulations to:
Phil, Gizmo & FreddyFox22

Three members who smashed the target and helped keep the community moving throughout September.

Thank you for getting involved!

What's New This Week?

Three New Xbox Scanners

We've now launched three new Xbox scanners, taking our total number of scanners to six.

The aim is simple: improve the reliability and speed of achievement scanning.

Our original three scanners couldn't always get everyone scanned, so adding three more gives us significantly more capacity and should help alleviate some of the issues we've experienced.

We're also looking at ways of pushing the Xbox API further to give us greater flexibility with what GamingDNA can offer.

My Xbox Is Now Live

One of the biggest additions is now live:

My Xbox.

My Xbox gives you your own dedicated Xbox hub where you can access all of your Xbox gaming information in one place.

From the My Xbox homepage you can:

View your Xbox overview

View your game library

View all of your unlocked achievements

View locked and unlocked achievements for games you've played

Write achievement guides

Track your Xbox achievement performance

Compete on Xbox leaderboards

And speaking of leaderboards...

Five Xbox Leaderboards

We've introduced five Xbox-related leaderboards, giving you another way to compete with other GamingDNA members and build up your Xbox profile.

There's plenty more we can do with My Xbox in the future, but this gives us a strong foundation to build from.

October Challenges Are Here

As we move into October, we'll be updated our challenges later today.

And this month there are three badges up for grabs.

Community Challenge

Create 10 new topics during October.

Complete the target and you'll earn yourself a shiny new badge.

Gaming Challenge

This month's Gaming Challenge couldn't be much easier.

Simply earn 10 Gamerscore on Xbox.

That's it.

10GS.

Easiest challenge we've had so far? Probably.

Halloween Challenge

And finally, there's the secret Halloween challenge.

Visit GamingDNA on 31st October and, assuming everything goes according to plan, you'll unlock a special Halloween badge.

Don't worry about remembering all three challenges. We'll be covering them throughout the month and counting down to Halloween.

GamingDNA 2.0

Since our last weekly update, we officially launched GamingDNA 2.0.

And with it came our brand-new homepage.

The aim of the new homepage is to give the community a much better overview of what's happening across GamingDNA and make it easier to discover the things we've been building.

We've already seen some positive signs.

One of our secret badges was advertised on the front page and, before long, we saw someone unlock it.

That's exactly the sort of interaction we're hoping to encourage.

We want GamingDNA to feel like something that's constantly moving rather than simply being a website that sits there waiting for people to visit.

The GamingDNA Team Is Growing

You may have noticed that GamingDNA is now officially a three-person team.

If you missed the announcements, Oblivion Knight and Gizmo have joined the team as our Community Moderators.

They'll be looking after the forums, helping the community and making sure GamingDNA remains a great place to hang out as we continue to grow.

So please give them both a warm welcome.

Future Plans

There's plenty more happening behind the scenes.

Steam Hub

Work will begin over the next few weeks on the Steam Hub.

Steam has historically been a little neglected compared with Xbox on GamingDNA, so the goal is to change that.

We want Steam to become just as rich and useful as the Xbox experience.

That means looking at things such as:

Steam game libraries

Achievement tracking

Steam statistics

Leaderboards

Game information

And potentially Steam achievement scanners

The aim is simple:

Xbox and Steam should feel like equal parts of GamingDNA.

The Wishlist

If you haven't already, check out the Wishlist forum.

I've already posted quite a few suggestions for things I'd like to see implemented across GamingDNA.

If there's something you'd like to see, vote for it.

And don't just stop there.

Feel free to create your own suggestions too.

GamingDNA is a community, so ideas that could improve the site will always be taken seriously — and fellow members can have their say by voting.

Help & Support

We're also currently rebuilding the original Help & Support pages, which have since disappeared.

The new Help Centre will become a much more useful source of information for members who need help understanding GamingDNA, its features and how everything works.

A Little Reality Check

One important thing to remember:

Not everything above is a "tomorrow" job.

GamingDNA is being developed around a full-time job and a family, so some things inevitably take time.

There's a lot happening behind the scenes, but we're building this properly rather than rushing everything out at once.

And with lots of new features inevitably comes the possibility of bugs.

So if you find something that doesn't look right, please report it in the Bug Reports forum.

The more you report, the more I can squash.

10 Community Posts Worth Checking Out

Now it's time to turn our attention to the community forums.

We've picked out 10 posts worth checking out this week — and, of course, there's nothing stopping you from leaving a cheeky reply while you're there!

Until Next Week...

That's everything for the first Community Address of October.

There's plenty happening across GamingDNA, and there's even more being worked on behind the scenes.

New features. New challenges. New badges. New hubs. New ideas.

And, most importantly, a community that we're continuing to build together.

Thanks for being part of GamingDNA.

Play. Track. Connect.

See you next week.

PJMC1986 OP · 1 month ago

We're continuing to make GamingDNA smarter, more automated and, most importantly, less reliant on manual syncing.

Today we're introducing the GamingDNA Steam Achievement Scanner.

🏆 Automatic Achievement Updates

Previously, Steam achievement progress required a manual sync to make sure GamingDNA had the latest information.

That's now changing.

The new scanner will automatically check Steam achievement progress three times per day, with the Steam scan scheduled to run one hour before our Xbox achievement scanners.

So, when you unlock an achievement on Steam, GamingDNA should automatically pick up that change during the next scan and update your profile and game progress accordingly.

🔄 What's the goal?

The aim is simple:

Play your games. We'll handle the syncing.

No more remembering to manually update your Steam achievements. GamingDNA will handle the background scanning and keep your achievement progress as up to date as possible.

🤞 First Run

This is a new system, so we're keeping a close eye on it.

Fingers crossed it behaves itself! 😂

We'll be monitoring the scanner over the coming days and making any improvements needed as we continue developing the GamingDNA platform.

GamingDNA — Your gaming history. Automatically tracked.

🎮 Steam Achievement Scanner — LIVE
🎮 Xbox Achievement Scanner — LIVE

v2.06 - Articles Upgrade

We’re giving GamingDNA’s Articles system a major upgrade with the release of v2.06 – Articles Upgrade! 🎮📰

GamingDNA has always been about more than just gaming stats, achievements and leaderboards. We want the site to be a place where the community can read, discuss and share gaming content — and this update takes our Articles section to the next level.

The Articles section has been upgraded to give GamingDNA a much more engaging editorial experience.

Instead of simply presenting blocks of text, articles can now be built around strong headlines, featured imagery and gaming-focused content designed to be enjoyable to read and easy to discover.

We've also started building a wider range of content, including:

🎮 Gaming debates
🏆 Achievement hunting
🕹️ Platform comparisons
😂 Gaming humour
💭 Community questions
🔥 Opinion pieces
📚 Gaming features

And that's only the beginning.

The new approach means GamingDNA can regularly publish content covering everything from serious gaming discussions to completely ridiculous questions.

Fancy debating Xbox vs PlayStation vs PC vs Nintendo?

Want to tell us about your rarest achievement?

Or perhaps you're brave enough to answer Would You Rather: Gaming Edition?

We've got you covered.

The Articles Upgrade isn't just about making pages look better.

It's about giving the GamingDNA community more things to read, react to and talk about.

An article can start a conversation.

A gaming opinion can turn into a debate.

A question can create an entire community discussion.

That's exactly what we want GamingDNA to become.

GamingDNA v2.06 – Articles Upgrade is now live. 🚀

And as always...

This is only the beginning. 🎮💜

v2.07 – Introducing Official Game Reviews!

We're levelling up GamingDNA once again! 🚀

With version 2.07, we're introducing GamingDNA Game Reviews — bringing you our own in-depth reviews of the games we're playing, sharing our experiences, and giving you our honest verdicts. From the biggest releases to the games that deserve more attention, we'll be taking a closer look at what gaming has to offer.

🎮 First-hand Experiences – Our reviews are based on our own time playing the games, not just a quick look at a trailer.
📝 In-Depth Reviews – We'll explore gameplay, features, improvements, and the areas that could be better.
⭐ GamingDNA Ratings – Every review will give you our verdict, helping you decide whether a game deserves a place in your collection.
🕹️ A Variety of Games – From management simulations and strategy games to action-packed adventures, there's plenty for us to explore.
⚖️ Honest Opinions – We'll celebrate what games get right while highlighting the frustrations and shortcomings we encounter along the way.

We've already put more than 20 hours into Transport Fever 3 on PC, and our review takes a closer look at the gameplay, increased detail compared with Transport Fever 2, achievements, mod catalogue, and a few areas we'd like to see improved. Our verdict? 4 out of 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐. But that's just the beginning. There are plenty more games to explore, play, review, and rate as GamingDNA continues to grow.

Version 2.07 is another step towards making GamingDNA more than just a gaming community. We're building a place where gaming experiences, achievements, discussion, and original content come together. These are GamingDNA's reviews, based on our own gaming experiences — and we're just getting started!

v2.08 – Miscellaneous Fixes

We're rolling out another round of improvements to GamingDNA! Version 2.08 focuses on visual consistency, navigation, new member onboarding and configuration updates to our Xbox and Steam scanning systems. Both Xbox and Steam achievement guides have received a visual refresh, bringing them closer to the GamingDNA look and feel. The aim is to make guides clearer, more polished and more recognisable across the platform. Our Features navigation menu has been renamed to Discover. This better reflects the purpose of the section: helping members explore GamingDNA's features, gaming content and community experiences. We've refreshed the welcome private message sent to new members. The new message introduces what GamingDNA has to offer, encourages members to complete their profiles and get involved, and invites them to help shape the community as we continue to grow. We've made configuration changes to the Xbox scanning system as part of our ongoing work to improve the management and reliability of Xbox gaming data. The Steam scanning system has also received configuration updates to support the continued maintenance and development of our Steam integration.

This release is all about refining the existing experience, improving consistency and making GamingDNA feel more polished for both new and established members. As always, thank you for being part of GamingDNA and helping us build a gaming community we're proud of. More improvements are on the way!

🧬 GamingDNA v2.08 — Small changes, a better experience. 🎮

and it continues with the new features…..

v2.10 - 🏆Introducing GamingDNA Game of the Year 2026!

We're taking Game of the Month to the next level!

Welcome to GamingDNA Game of the Year 2026 — a year-long competition celebrating the games our community has been playing and unlocking achievements in throughout 2026.

🎮 Two platforms. Two winners. One whole year of achievement hunting.

We'll crown two winners:

🟢 Xbox Game of the Year 2026

🔵 Steam Game of the Year 2026

📊The race is already underway!

Unlike a traditional Game of the Year award decided at the end of the year, GamingDNA gives you a live snapshot of the current standings. The competition tracks achievements unlocked by GamingDNA members throughout the entire 2026 calendar year — 1 January to 31 December 2026. That means you can see which games are currently on track to win, based on the achievements our community has unlocked so far this year. Every achievement counts, every unlock contributes to the race, and the standings can change as members continue gaming throughout the year!

🏆Who will take the crown?

Will a blockbuster dominate the leaderboards? Could an indie gem surprise everyone? Or will a game nobody expected rise through the rankings as our community unlocks more achievements? There's still plenty of time for the standings to change, and the current leader isn't guaranteed to finish on top! Head over to the Game of the Year 2026 page to check out the current standings and see which games are leading the race on Xbox and Steam. Keep playing, keep unlocking, and help your favourite games climb the rankings!

v2.11 - 🎮 INTRODUCING GAMERTAG BATTLES — ONLY ON GAMINGDNA! 🏆

Ever wondered how your Xbox stats stack up against your fellow GamingDNA members? Now it's time to settle the score!

🔥 Gamertag Battles have arrived! 🔥

Pick your rival, step into the arena, and let your Xbox gaming history do the talking. Three rounds. Three stats. One battle for bragging rights.

🥊 THE THREE ROUNDS

🎯 Round 1: Gamerscore Showdown

Who has racked up the most gamerscore? Every point counts.

🏆 Round 2: Achievement Hunter

Who's unlocked the most achievements? Time to put that gaming dedication to the test.

🎮 Round 3: Game Collector

Who's played the most games? Let's see who's explored the biggest gaming library.

⚔️ HOW DOES IT WORK?

Challenge another Xbox-connected GamingDNA member and go head-to-head across all three categories. Win the most rounds to claim victory. If the rounds finish level, it's a draw! Every battle tells a story, every stat counts, and every win earns you the ultimate prize: bragging rights over your rival. 😎 So, who's brave enough to challenge you? And more importantly… can you back up your stats? 👉 Head over to the Discover tab, launch a Gamertag Battle, and find out!

Let the battles begin. 💚🎮
