Do you or do you know someone with diabetes?

I've got type 2. Non-insulin.

My wife passed away last year from type 1 diabetes at the age of 40 - and left a 5 year old son.

My biological father was a type 2 diabetic, as was his wife. They are both now type 1. My ex-husband is also a type 1 diabetic. All of them are insulin dependent.

I’ve got the Caresens Air but they’re like $50 NZD every 15 days. There is supposedly meant to be funding one day for it here. Type 1 can get funding for them already.

The CareSens Air is a wearable continuous glucose monitoring system that measures your sugar levels and sends real-time data directly to your smartphone.

My mother is currently diabetic. She have been on drugs for at least 4 years now. We are also trying to combine herbs to help manage it.

This is very true. It's why I don't eat anything cooked outside. I make my own food and make sure I eat the right thing.

I tend to agree with you. What my mother eat mostly now is plant based food and meat. This helps your sugar spike after meal to be very small. I pray she can be able to reverse everything soon by God's grace.

They say a lot of diabetics die in their 40s. My wife died at 40. Her dad died at 40, I think. In fact, I believe she has some kind of mystical feeling she was going the same way. And my own cousin went blind and then died around 44 I think.

I wouldn't agree with that because I know so many people who are living with diabetes and far more older. My mom is turning 60 next year and she's diabetic. So, that 40 years theory or myth is wrong.

Yeah, free will is horrible thing. So either it’s someone enabling the diabetic, the diabetic’s own foolish choices or a combo.

So I guess I can say in my religion that all bad will be restored, though.

But then again, I was looking at actual stats regarding childhood onset Type 1 Diabetes, bipolar etc..

My Uncle had both of his legs amputated because of complications with diabetes back in 2013. He sadly passed away a couple years ago. My mother in law has it too, and she takes insulin. My father in law was pre diabetic but he’s been managing it better than my mother in law.

I'm sorry to hear about that - but at least he's still alive.

Diabetes is a deadly illness if not treated. One of my uncles is also managing type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is a warning that diet and exercise are very important. A lot of people fail to check their sugar level until it damage their body.
