Early Birds vs Night Owls - when are you actually most productive?

Yarik · 4 days ago · 4 replies · 41

Do you prefer working in the early morning to get an uninterrupted window before all the daily notifications and requests start rolling in, or do you prefer to work during late nights once you have cleared out all the day’s obligations and everything is peaceful and quiet? What do you think is actually more productive?

Personally, if I had to choose between the two, I would go with the night owls. I feel much more productive after a good night’s sleep without the pressure of waking up early in the morning, and I don’t feel rushed at work.

I'm more of an early bird, I get up at 4:30 A.M. I get so tired staying up late but it’s nice getting off at 2:30 in the afternoon.

I think I'm a bit of both, but not necessarily by choice haha. I'm often awake at stupid o'clock, so I do enjoy those peaceful early mornings before the rest of the world wakes up. BUT after a full day at work, sometimes the evening is the first chance I get to properly sit down and concentrate on something for myself. I think I'm most productive when nobody needs anything from me for five minutes 😂

I love going to bed early because when I don't sleep well at night, it ruins my whole day. I wrap things up as fast as possible in order to be in bed early.

...during the afternoon—although I don't usually get up early, since I generally wake up after 10 a.m.—I still lean more towards being an early riser than a night owl.
