Would You Trust a Smartphone Without Google, Apple, or any major tech company's services?

T TheGhostWhoStayed · 5 days ago · 5 replies · 88

Most of us rely on Google, Apple, and other major tech companies for everyday things like apps, maps, cloud storage, and security updates. But what if you could use a smartphone without depending on any of them?

Would you trust a phone built entirely outside the major tech ecosystems, or have we become too dependent on these companies to do without them?

Honestly speaking, it is actually hard to trust any kind of company, even if it is Apple, Google, Facebook, or any other company. No one knows how they use your information and it is really hard to trust them. Having said that, trusting any other company is just like that. Some companies have a strict privacy policy and you could sue them if you find that they are misusing your information.

Since it is a smartphone there will be other services, right? Well, I can certainly trust a smartphone without Google or other major tech companies. In fact I don’t like major tech companies because of how they track.

So long as the services this brand would provide would be similar to what we are used to with other brands.

I get my new replacement smartphone tomorrow delivered.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XT

GrapheneOS

Cape.co phone services

Proton VPN

Gonna cost me about $80/mo total.

But it is one of the safest secure setups you can have, and completely google free.

(Google literally has tentacles in all of your OS and apps.)

So I will see soon.

Will if the services of the applications offered by the phone belong to well-reputabke companies, then I do not think that there should be any problem. The problem here is tha not all the companies are regulated by the government and this could cause serious problems for the consumers who are using the phone on regular basis. This is a very important point that should be discussed.
