Why Do Software Updates Sometimes Make Devices Worse Instead of Better?

Software updates are supposed to make our devices faster, safer, and better, but sometimes they do the exact opposite. Why do you think this keeps happening? Is it poor testing, companies rushing to release updates, or are we sometimes forced to upgrade devices that were working just fine?

I remember my old company kept releasing software that made all systems run bad. They operated on an 80/20 model. Once it was 80% ready, DEPLOY. Then just bug fix. In the end all the heads of technology was sacked.

Some software developers just rush to release updates without testing it properly. There are so many brands of tech devices manufacturers and proper tests before a software update is released is what would make it compatible with all devices, so that installing the update won't make any device worse off.

Because not all updates are great. Many people actually like older versions of the app and they never prefer “new features" whatsoever. Updates do not necessarily mean that you will get a better version of the app. It could just mean that you may get an app where they fix bugs. That is fine. However, adding something new and removing something from the app could leave users frustrated.
