How are you coping with rising fuel prices?

Gizmo · 6 months ago · 12 replies · 5K

Fuel prices seem to keep climbing, and it’s starting to impact everyday life for a lot of people. Whether it’s commuting, running errands, or just getting through the week, it all adds up quickly.

How are you managing it where you are?

Are you:

Driving less or combining trips?
Carpooling or using public transport more?
Switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?
Just absorbing the cost and pushing through?

Or have you found any clever ways to save on fuel that actually work?

Would love to hear how everyone is coping and what changes (if any) you’ve made lately.

I drive electric motor bike, I use electric cooker. Electricity in our country is mostly hydro electricity. Rising fuel prices aren't affecting me much.

I have got cars that use petroleum to operate, and what I've done recently is reduced the way that I use those cars. I use more public transport in moving to different destinations, and that has saved me some cost.

I unfortunately can't really do much to deal with it. I live about 20 minutes away from my job, and you can't get there on any other mode of transportation where I live. If I lived on the other side of the river and closer to my work, I could take a bus since there is public transportation in St. Louis/St. Louis County but I live in St. Charles County and they are afraid that "the crime would come with our local metrolink train" so the extension never happened.

We just need to survive because the fuel price has no direction again. Last week, I had to trek a little just to save some money. This is exactly why many people park their cars. I do too sometimes.

It's really a bummer to have no license and no car, but at least I don't have to deal with this current problem. Anyway, in the past I had these things and I had so much freedom because of it, but it always came at a price, mainly that vehicles have to be fed and maintained.

Gas prices are about the same as they were when Biden was in office, so it's not a big thing really. They'll come down once there is peace in the Middle East!. I'm not too concerned and have not changed my driving habits.

I have started to use my motorcycles frequently. This is what I have been doing to minimize my furl consumption. Having said that, I really hope that things will get better once the war stops. I really hope that there will be a breakthrough and we will get out of this economical crisis sooner.

I'm not finding it funny because it's crazy how much I'm paying for fuel right now. I wouldn't have believe people would be forced to pay this amount and it's making things more expensive.

This is something I am also doing as well. The gas prices have increased so much due to war. I live in a country which has been affected by war in a really awful manner and this has made life miserable for many people. People are not able to earn money and unemployment is already a huge problem for many people. Under such kind of circumstances, it is nearly impossible for people to cope with rising fuel prices.

Gas prices is dropping in Florida!

Prices of fossil fuels have gone terribly high. I am switching to electricity to save money on fuels. In our country, 98 percent of electricity is produced through water, so it is cheap and also green. By switching to electric cooker and electric vehicle, I have cut down my fuel prices by 50 percent.
