How are you handling the rising cost of living?

Gizmo · 6 months ago · 5 replies · 2K

It feels like everything is getting more expensive lately — groceries, rent, power bills, insurance, and pretty much anything you need just to get by.

Everyone’s feeling it in different ways, so I’m curious:

How are you managing the rising cost of living where you are?

Cost of living has risen since I was a little girl. You'd never believe the prices we paid back then for everything. Even though some prices go up and down, we can't get a loaf of bread for a dime anymore and I never expect to either.

As for managing, you just need to set and live by a budget. If you're the type who splurges, then get someone else you trust to handle the finances.

I have started downgrading myself. I have moved to cheaper location to save on rents, I have switched to eating vegetarian food, which costs less than non-vegetarian food. I have cur my entertainment budget as well

It's all about endurance now. I went to the market yesterday and the prices of things have increased more than 4 times the price we used to buy them. I just stand there confused, I didn't even know what to do.

I am coping with the cost of living at the moment, but I will admit, for a few years with so much uncertainty, it did get stressful, and I did struggle somewhat.

I have ended up cutting things out I don't need, such as entertainment subscriptions, and I have also turned to buying cheaper foods to help manage the cost of living. It is not easy, but learning how to budget and manage your money better helps a lot.

I reckon that I would manage the cost of living by cutting cost. I have stopped using my motorcycle for a long time. I have stopped buying expensive food, as I can no longer afford it. Inflation has increased a lot recently and this is a really bad news for the people around the world. I do not live in a tier 1 country, by the way.
