Does your forum get search traffic?

Nomad · 6 months ago · 5 replies · 37K

Currently, none of my forums get search traffic, traffic mostly come from social media, other websites (mostly other forums), and the registered users. However, in the past I had one forum where I used to get a lot of search traffic, from Google and Baidu (Chinese search engine). Do you get search engine traffic?

Search traffic is not easy to get. Google don't smile again like before. I had some forums that used to rank, but after one update, the traffic just dropped. These days it’s the social media and direct users that are carrying most info. Growth now require more strategy, not luck as it was before.

Apparently, my religious/general-discussion forum is getting a lot of visitors, but it could be bots; I'm not sure. And, of course, I think the visitors and/or bots are coming from search engines. Would this be correct?

I am getting some search traffic on Thee Zone. It's not much and the same search query has been popping up lately but it's there. For some reason people are finding my forum from the terms "Why is South Park leaving HBO Max?" I don't recall making a thread about it but I guess I did. :V

If it were bots or visitors, why are they targeting one of my forums and not the others? I mean, I was getting 600 visitors at one point (a single trip to my forum) while I'm lucky to get 10 on my other ones!

Some forums do get search traffic. This entirely depends a lot on the type of forum you run and how much content you have on the forum. You need to have a good quantity and high-quality keywords on your forum to get search engine traffic. You can also get raw traffic from socia media as well.
