Must everyone go to the gym to stay healthier?

H Henry · 6 months ago · 8 replies · 7K

At every turn, the talk has always been that the gym is a place where those who want to stay fit and healthy go. This has made me wonder if that is the best approach to staying healthy. Must I visit the gym before I am assured that I will be healthy?

No, I don't think that's always the case. In fact, you can buy dumbbells at a store and walk and jog for free.

But the problem is motivation. Some people cannot be motivated outside a gym.

Never! It's not a golden rule. Some people even go to the gym but still fail to keep fit. Also, going to the gym only isn't enough to sleep someone fit. If you don't change your lifestyle and watch what you eat, fitness will always be far from you.

It is not a golden rule, but walking is a good idea to remain healthy. Doctor's recommend cardio. Whether it's walking for 5-15 minutes a day. Any type of cardio is good for your body, or weight lifting.

The gym is great if you want to build muscle, or you want long term benefits, especially cardio wise, or building muscle in extra places.

Gym is not the only way to stay healthy. Some people act like if you have never use a dumbbell, you’re already writing your will. My neighbor has never stepped into the gym once, but that man treks every morning and still looks stronger than all these fitness people.

I think that it is important to go to the gym because exercise can help you in many ways. However, going to the gym is not the only way to stay healthy. You could do exercise in the park and you could eat healthy food when it comes to maintaining healthy diet.

No, it's not a must. I haven't been to the gym in a very long time but I've been keeping fit myself by working out at home and eating healthy.

One option is to do calisthenics at home. That would be stuff like push-ups, sit-ups, the stuff I did when learning Tae-Kwon-do.

And the best thing is you don't have to buy gym memberships or dumbbells or weights!

I don't think so. Most people could be fine walking several miles daily or hiking, maintaining a well-balanced diet and moderating your sugar and fat intake.
