I think companies like Apple now manufacture née iPhone yearly or once in two years with some features added. The same can be said for other brands like Samsung. Does such innovation make you switch devices on a yearly basis?
Who has the money for that? I use mine for at least 3 years, and no less. It's a waste otherwise.
I don't pluck money from trees, so it's not possible for me to change phones or any other devices every year. My rule of the thumb when it comes to changing a device is to do so when the device is no longer serving me well.
I have never switched by devices every year, even if the company I use for say my mobile phone makes a newer phone. I have always been someone who has purchased a phone I am happy with, and then I will use it until I feel I have to upgrade my phone due to having issues with lagging, or that my phone no longer gets updates.
The last time I made a new phone purchase was in November 2024, and I am feeling as though I may need to upgrade soon.
