Who is your hosting provided and what is service quality like that they offer?

Thought we could have a little thread to get peoples opinions of their hosting providers to help others out.

I’m with Hostinger on a shared server. Been with them for around a decade and 0 issues what so ever. They keep there development blog up to date with whats going on so you can plan around any downtime (which is rare). It has a 99.9% uptime score. Cheap as chips too.

For my sites and blogs I use a New Zealand webhost called MyHost. I find it easier to keep it local. For forums I use ForumSpark.

I go for two local Nigerian web hosting Providers one HoganHost Plans start around ₦250/month, it is one cheap plan. Another is Whogohost: Popular budget plans sthis one is as low as ₦400/month, it is good as it offers reliable customer service and domain registration.

That’s a good deal. Only 30 cents in US money. Do you like them? Good speed and uptime?

DreamHost VPS.

I’ve been with them for over 15 years. They used to be a lot better than they are now.

Now, their support seems automated. They never actually try to solve anything for you. They just give you a link to a document and say you have to do everything, yet I’m on the managed plan that I pay more for.

I’m considering a switch to Liquid Web very soon. I just hate having to do it.

I use Server4You. A friend pays it and in return I’m the server Admin and we both run various sites on it. It’s a high end, fully dedicated server for $80 a month . It’s unmanaged which makes it cheaper, and I have full terminal access and Plesk Obsidian.

I have used various hosting providers for my blogs and websites. However, I must admit that I have used free domains for all of my websites. So, the results were quite different. I have used Weebly in the past. Weebly is no longer available in my country. However, when it was available back then, I used to create websites through it. It had a drag and drop feature, which enabled me to create blogs.

I’ve been on GreenGeek the past 5 years or so now. Really love it.

I currently manage the software on a shared server provider (Linode), so I run patches, updates in the background, and other aspects. If you are up for the challenge (and honestly, a lot can be done through automated scripts like Virtualmin now) it’s for sure worth it since you can enable or change settings that dramatically improve your site’s loading experience or the functions it can support through modules in like php or SQL drivers.
