The worst hosting company you have used?

Shortie · 1 week ago · 3 replies · 55

Over the years, I have used quite a few different hosting companies, and only one was the absolute worst.

When I first started creating forums, my dad suggested a hosting company he had been using: BigWetFish Hosting. I went with them, and for a while, their hosting was perfect, but a few years down the line, I started having issues with a lot of downtime and even slow loading.

I later found out that they had started hosting way too many different websites on the same servers through their shared hosting, which was causing issues, so I eventually moved.

What has been the worst hosting company you have ever used?

I would probably say some of the worst ones that I have seen include but are not limited to the following;

  • GoDaddy

  • Hostinger

  • Awardspace (not sure if they are even around anymore)

A lot of the time they are bad because their software that they run on their servers are straight outdated, or they overload their servers so that if you are running a site you’ll see major slowness or sometimes straight up non-responsiveness from your site, which is a real dealbreaker if you are paying for a service that you can’t fully use to the best.

I am moving away from DreamHost after being with them for over 15 years.

But DreamHost wasn’t the worst for me. Las Vegas Communication Solutions was the worst one for me. They had a data center fire, didn’t back nothing up, and everyone lost everything.

They offered a new plan with a month free, but it had less features and was 3 times for expensive.

That’s about the time I found DreamHost which was awesome for a long time until the owners sold it off.

Now, it has the absolute worst support I’ve ever seen.
