What software or website do you use to create your graphics?

Shortie · 1 week ago · 8 replies · 116

Over the years, I have used Photoshop, GIMP, and Canva to create graphics for my projects and also for others, but I find myself using Canva much more now than any other due to my hands not being as steady as they used to be with a health condition I have.

Canva has helped me with a lot of graphics over the last few years for my projects, and I really can’t fault the site.

I have never used Photoshop or GIMP because I am not a professional graphic designer. However, I have used tools such as ChatGPT in order to generate artwork. The artwork generated by ChatGPT was also quite great. However, creating your own artwork brings you great happiness. Regardless of that, I was still happy that I was able to generate artwork using an AI tool.

I checked the website that you quoted. It seems a fun website where you could possibly create good logos. However, logos generated by those websites are not professional. They could be used for fun, but if you want to get a professional logo, then you must hire a professional artist for that. Having said that, the website is still quite nice for logo designs.

I used to be a big Corel Draw user, but once I got Canva, I never looked back!! Now that Ai has improved, I sometimes us it to get an idea of how I want a design to be and then I can fix it in Canva. It saves time to use both to do designing.

I can agree. I’ve used it for years, but since the advancement of A.I., it’s been awhile!

I miss Photoshop as it was because subscription became the model that Adobe follows. I recently switched over to Affinity, and that’s where I’m staying. It’s a pay-once type of software like PS used to be. GPT can be good at times, but the current themes on my site are using images that I created myself.

I have been using Microsoft's Paint 3D for casual, simple graphics, especially 2D images, basic photo edits, stickers, and 3D scenes even if it is not a good choice for professional design, precise vector graphics, or serious 3D modeling.

By the way Microsoft has removed it from the Microsoft Store on but I use an already-installed copy

Also Google Drawings is another choice for simple 2D graphics, diagrams, flowcharts, and visuals for Docs or Slides again, it is still not a full professional design app.

Google Docs and Slides, making is useful for reports, and presentations and for clean, simple graphics than detailed artwork, posters, logos, or complex photo composites.

I suggest Google Slides, fine for basic sketches and layouts, but not for polished graphic design.

I have used ChatGPT in order to generate certain logos just for fun. While it is capable of generating some great logos, it still lacks that professional touch. Many different organisations and corporations still require graphic designers and this is the exact reason why AI has not killed the jobs when it comes to graphic designing industry.
