Is it a good idea to use an AI chatbot?

Chatbots have been around for a long time, but previously they were only used to answer very basic questions—for instance, simply providing links to FAQs. Now, thanks to AI, they are no longer just impersonal, rigid tools; they can engage in actual conversations and attempt to provide solutions. Is it a good idea to have an AI chatbot on my website? If so, which one would you recommend?
