Can AI Moderators Be Fairer Than Human Forum Moderators?

E eLdavis · 23 hours ago · 2 replies · 10

Forum moderators have to deal with spam, harassment, arguments, and rule-breaking every day. AI moderators could handle these tasks quickly and apply rules consistently, but they might also misunderstand sarcasm, jokes, or the context behind certain comments. Human moderators, on the other hand, can use personal judgment but may sometimes show favouritism or bias.

Do you think AI moderators could make online forums fairer and more consistent, or is human judgment still necessary when handling community discussions?

I think what you say about misunderstandings will be part of the issues for Ai.

Humans do tend to bring their subjectiveness into the mix, and Ai wouldn’t be for any side, so there are times when Ai would get it better and other times when humans would be better for the job.

I thi k that this would be possible only if AI gets too advanced and be able to communicate with forum members. AI has the capability to do that and assess the situation. It might be possible that right now AI might not be too advanced for that. However, we can already see AI chat bots communicating with clients and customers around the globe. We can see how corporates and different organisations use AI. So, forums could be a good place where AI could be optimised for that.
