High Visibility Colored Clothing?

DramaK · 1 month ago · 8 replies · 263

One of my favorite trails where I walk, and others run, it’s hunting season for archery and will be hunting season until probably February of next year for various game and the ways that they can be killed. High visibility orange clothing is mandatory and usually I just avoid that trail except on certain Sundays where hunting is forbidden. But I’d like to look into getting something orange to wear without it being too expensive.

If you’re in a similar situation, what do you wear?

I have a blaze orange hunting vest I usually wear. I’d like to get something a little bit more fitted though as I usually wear a lot of compression when I run to help rid drag.

I try to get shirts and shorts/tights that are other colors besides black though.

Here’s a place that sells high-viz running apparel:

Visibility Collection – Sprints INC

I’ve considered that. I’m sure I’d get stares and smiles, but as long as it kept me seen, that would be all that matters.

The trail I prefer to hike on specifically states bright orange…so I’ve been looking on Amazon for something cheap. There are very cheap vests for about $6, but they’re hideous. There is a jacket I’m interested in, but with things being made in China, will it be too tight? Or too large. That’s how it is with most Chinese clothes bought on Amazon.

I usually get them 2 sizes up.

If they have a UK size, that is usually more accurate. Compare what the UK size will be to the American size and try that.

Amazon had it’s Prime Deals day and that jacket I had my eye on came down to around $12, so I got it!! It’s a lot nicer than I expected and is definitely waterproof…and BRIGHT ORANGE. I can’t be missed now! We went hiking yesterday and my husband was worried at first since he didn’t have a jacket, but I told him there’s no way anyone would mistake us for deer with how bright I was LOL

Had a good fit I’d imagine? Did you get your size or size up?

I purposely got it roomy so I could wear my jacket/coat underneath! It’s a Large unisex size and a Medium would have looked better, but with things from Amazon, you never know what you’ll get in size. The reviews were a variety of too big and too small, so what that tells me is that nothing is made according to any exact size anymore. Buy one of a different color and it could fit totally different! I hate that quality control is bad these days.

Yeah, I agree.

Usually, you get smaller with Amazon. I usually go 1 to 2 sizes up.

I have an orange sweatshirt I wear most of the time, but I wear it more for comfort than for visibility.
